Sony is now making Nikon's high-end sensors. They've embedded a clever bug into the Nikon cameras with these Sony sensors: the Nikon DSLR suddenly dies after a encrypted number of flips of the mirror the sensor can detect as different from the original Sony mirrorless cameras. Just look online for 'Nikon Sudden Death Syndrome'. I've seen a thread where they think from your Nikon serial number you can identify the week number in the calendar year (01 -> 53) your camera is most likely to die. The syndrome isn't even very hush-hush.
Sony is now making Nikon's high-end sensors. They'... (show quote)

I saw this was reported in 2009, do you think they are still doing it? Didn't Nikon pioneer the BSI sensor that Sony manufactured for them and Nikon gave them the rights to put it in Sony cameras.

Talk about distortion! The picture is so distorted that it makes the Red-Tail Hawk look like an Osprey

Other than that, it is a great capture!

Could it be the lens? Taken with the Z7 and the 500mm f5.6 PF. The attached shot was the same lens on the D500. Second image is same lens on the D850.

I agree. The only benefit that I can see with electronic shutter is that it's absolutely quiet. Downsides include distortion when photographing something in motion and banding.

I did not experience distortion or banding, but auto focus is slower than my D500 or D850.

Added a 2nd memory card slot.
Still no GPS and no cable release slot to add that way.

Question. What is the advantage in using Luminar instead of Photoshop, which easily transitions back and forth with Lightroom?

Does a far better job of sky replacement.

This really belongs in a thread of its own.

Just answering one member, didn't mean to hijack the thread. As I stated I got my Nikon 500mm f5.6 PF when it first came out from B&H I waited 4 months for mine. I also have the 300mm PF at f4 and with a TC it is awesome.

I am not spreading any untruths, again, ANYONE can join as long as they meet the requirements. Again, ANYONE can join. They do not EXCLUDE anyone who does not meet the requirements.
Please calm down and have a nap, or a cup of cider and doughnut, or a cup of coffee, or anything you believe will lesson your blood pressure.
Again, my statement is true, anyone can join.

One of the requirements was proof of sale (receipt or paid invoice) from a client that I could not provide and was denied membership though I met the equipment requirements.

I was. Then I started at the bottom of the list of authorized Nikon dealers and found one 27 places up. I had to pay sales tax, but it wasn't what I would've paid in WA state. To me, it was worth paying not to be on B&H's long waiting list forever. I should have it by the end of the week, if not sooner. I found mine at The Camera Company in Madison, WI. They may have more if you're looking to purchase one and don't mind paying around $200 in sales tax.

I have had mine for around 2 years and use it on a D500, love this lens.

The crest isn't always visible. The titmouse posted by Tinyman has his crest lowered. Probably an expression of his 'mood'.

Could be, but I have never seen one with it lowered.

AI is an average not necessarily the end product. AI in Photoshop CC, Luminar 4, Aurora, Affinity and many others allow you to tweak the results of the AI process if you want to or you don't have to accept any of it. I assume everyone uses a computer and a camera (which has a computer built in to it), then you are allowing the computer and/or camera (if you shoot JPEG) to make decisions for you which is AI.

Can you imagine telling an AI program about your feelings about an image as to what you like and don't like and the program gives you options based on your feelings?

All the time, I programmed for 45 years and that is precisely what we did.
