Thank you for that. Curious as to where? wrapped? or just the canvas?

Just checked Costco US and the price is $59.99 for a 16x20 wrapped.
MPIX is listed at $94.50.

Having scoped out the Canadian market, my pricing is about 10% less than the market here in Canada. The US market should be less than CAD.

I am wondering if there might be an interest in a workshop where the participant wraps their own pre-printed giclee archival canvas for their own use. I am not advertising said workshop, just interested in how many would participate if one was in your area?

Assuming $35 workshop fee plus canvas (all items required included) cost for 1 of 3 sizes,
12x18 $45, total $80
16x24 $75, total $110
20x30 $120, total $155

Would you;
-be interested?
-consider these prices low, right on, or high?

The next time you do an import, check and you will see that you have ticked import ALL images and have not ticked the DO NOT IMPORT DUPLICATES. Lightroom does what YOU tell it to do.

Funny you say that. I have been a CC subscribe since the end of Aperture. LR does not solve that problem for me. If it solves it for you then great!

I asked people to suggest other reasons to use digital for free. What is your suggestion on how to use (almost) free digital?

By default; if LR imports from your internal drive place X to place Y it chooses Move so you don't end up with duplicate files. If importing from a camera card then COPY is the default mode and if you are simply importing photos from place X to place X then ADD is the default.

As you are asking about the move feature it seems like you might be manually copying your files to your internal drive and then trying to import from LR to a different location on the internal drive. If so, why are you taking that extra step? Let LR copy the files right from your card and place the files exactly where you need them to be.

Can you tell us your actual procedure for importing files starting with the camera.

That is the funny thing, no. It's the internal drive.

It would be more respectful to put your wife first. My wife and I. Regardless, congrats.

I appreciate the sentiment but I highly doubt I or any one else here will be around for 2919.

When ever you fire your flash it always makes 2 flashes. The first is to judge the exposure and the second is to take the actual photo. It happens so fast you can't see the double flash. But when you move to 2nd curtain flash you can then see the pre-flash with the main flash coming when the 2nd curtain starts to close. It threw me for a loop the first time I tried as well as I'm sure almost all get fooled.

Note: red eye reduction is similar but then 3 flashes are actually fired. The first to adjust the eyes to close down, then the exposure judging and finally the main flash.

Some people think it there God given right to get others to do their work instead of running their own search whether on UHH or Google etc. and only then asking for clarification. Unfortunately, there are so many willing to bend over and spoon feed them that they will probably never stop.

But I've ruffled enough feathers today answering generic non-descriptive questions with generic non-descriptive (albeit smart ass) answers.

The OP asked if I had any ideas and I did answer the question with a couple (of ideas). They then asked for a more specific elaboration and I answered again. Asking specific questions will result in specific answers. Asking broad generic questions is a waste of time. I fail to see how one person can answer with "Oh it's the greatest" and another answers with "Oh it sucks" can help anyone make an informed decision. If this makes me an a$$...e then so be it.

Linda, great job. My first reaction was that these (and more) would make for a great book or calendar.

Well boys and girls, the problem is one bad file. After exporting as a tif and inserting the new tif in the book I got the same error. Deleted the file from the book and shazam it works just fine. Thanks for all your help everyone.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The plot thickens. If you want my comparison between X and Y then you get only my thoughts which may or may not work for you. The best advice I can offer is to create a small book in X and then try the same book in Y. This will tell you the real story that is suited for you. My needs are not the same as yours. Note that I said small book so you're not wasting time on a huge project. Try it with about 6 or 8 pages. Everyone here has an opinion on everything but none can suit your needs as well as your own.
