For those of us who have stepped on a nail there is no question what had happened, OUCH. As part of my Environmental Management Job, was "Health and Safety". Rrockdog's punch photo would be a great poster, "Workplace Hazards -- Ready to Nail You."

The construction of this photo is excellent, monotone is the best choice color would be a distraction. Well done rockdog

Thank you, Don. It was a "watch your step" day.

Well, I couldn't think of a better title, if you have a suggestion please say! It's a bit different to my usual offerings - my wife said 'yes, it's a bit different for you but rather sickly'......can't please all the people all the time. All images are mine, no AI BUT I must say the latest Ps Select Subject saves a lot of time! Any critique appreciated, as always.

Beauty and the Arachnid would not have been a good title. The issue of style vs reality is no issue for me, she is real and that is all there is to it! As Linda mentioned, the blue made me think porcelain and is an asset. Nothing sickly here just more of your interesting and beautiful work!

Inspired by an earlier post by Linda From Maine I thought I would create this fun image. The original image was shot while on my Jan 2020 Street Mural Roadtrip. This particular image was shot in Pittsburg. Pittsburg has a lot of very interesting murals and is home to Street Muralist: Jeremy Raymer.

This composite was created by first going to Bing Image Creator and adding the prompt:

A unique artistic portrait representing a Chimpanzee holding an IPhone and wearing a sweatshirt with WABI-SABI on it, constructed entirely from an array of torn fabric and paper pieces using various textures and colors, showcasing an intricate patchwork of torn fabric and crumpled paper. The fabric and paper should appear realistically torn and crinkled, with edges frayed and curled. The background is simple and plain to highlight the detailed construction of the figure. The overall tone of the image is creative and surreal. This is a modified version of a prompt by Jim Craven. His version had "dog" instead of Chimpanzee holding and IPhone and wearing sweatshirt with WABI-SABI on it.

I then selected out just the Character and placed it it my Pittsburgh wall mural scene. I look forward to seeing all the other WABI-SABI creations people will be posting.

This is fun and I am amazed at the detail of your prompt, thank you for that.

After reading the post by Linda From Maine - photographing (or creating) decay and other imperfections - I dug up a few decaying items from the archives.

These are both attractive and the second would be a fine addition to the UHH texture and background library.

One of my textures, one from another source. Two of my photos, and two of my brushes (horses and barn). Constructive criticism welcomed!

I like this and it makes me question why I haven't learned to make and use brushes.

Wonderful shot. Not that it matters but did you find it that way or did you set it up?

It is a relevant question, Jack. In those days, although I was not religious about it, I mostly practiced shoot it as you found it. As cool as that shoe was, I did not want to touch it, so no arranging here. I always appreciate your comments, thank you.

Great lines and textures, beautifully converted to digital. A provocative scene that raises several questions...

Thank you Linda. I maybe should have posted this in the B&W section, but I am hoping for more Wabi Sabi in this section. One question my post may raise is about the use of caps and a hyphen in the spelling of wabi-sabi. I had the concept long before I had a name for it.

This morning on a flickr group that shoots a new theme each week, I learned a new-to-me term: Wabi Sabi.

The term comes from two Japanese words: 'wabi' meaning transient beauty and 'sabi' referring to the beauty which comes with age and decay. Together, the term Wabi-sabi combines these two principles to represent the aesthetic beauty found in impermanence and imperfection. See more here.

I love this photo! The color palette and your processing make the rust and the weeds perfect. The Magpies add a little serendipity, which is almost as much fun to say as Wabi Sabi. Once again, you have given us a new path to wander, this will be fun. I was so grateful when the term first came to me, it helped define more than a few components of my life.
