After reading the post by Linda From Maine - photographing (or creating) decay and other imperfections - I dug up a few decaying items from the archives.

Both of these must have been buried very far down in the deep freeze. Both are very nice but I have to go with #2.

Burrr... message clear.... The geometry of the first is very interesting. The diffusion of the Ice is a great image filter that I have used effectively ... not seeing something clearly forces us to look more intently.

Good images Blenheim Orange

Intriguing, marvelous photos, Mike. #1 is especially eye-catching for the geometry, as Don mentions.

It has been quite a few years since I've had the opportunity or desire to shoot ice-covered nature, or leaves under ice-covered water. Your photos should inspire the mobile, adventurous folks to leave their toasty rooms and comfy recliners and head out into the elements. Thanks so much for posting!

The first one reminds me of pile of frozen spider legs. And the second one turtle shells under the ice.

These are both attractive and the second would be a fine addition to the UHH texture and background library.

Haven’t had much ice in my part of the UK this winter - but the forecast says all that’s about to change. We’ll see, it’s rare down here. If I could get a shot like your second one I’d be very pleased, it’s really attractive.

Nice. I like to look for these motifs as well.

Thanks. There is usually no shortage of snow and ice here.
