Get the college degree even a Masters in Fine arts or Education. The degree will be a very nice topic on your resume. It shows your commitment to a path in life. So many people will say, "Oh I started college but I ..... (excuses) never finished."
Get the degree when you are young then rush out into the real world and make a living.
This is what I have told thousands of High School seniors, a college degree is one of the real satisfactions in life. When in college try to get course work that will provide you with a salable skill.
Do not like high fence hunting.
If I drove a Ferrari, I would have one. Since I drive a Chevy truck I'll stick with my Whimberly.
Ouch, the cost of the Zenelli at B&H is outrageous.
I agree with DrMarty. I shoot the 16-35 and have printed several large prints and have decided my eyes are not good enough to see the lack of sharpness in the corners. after I print I look at the shot from at least 10 feet. I cannot see the lack of sharpness so often mentioned. In fact, I was looking at some of the HUGE prints Clyde Butcher produces and if you look real close the entire picture doesn't look sharp. When you step back the entire print becomes clear. His prints are several feet by several feet.
So, what would I purchase if I was doing it again - VR is the only way to go for us old guys.
Since you are shooting on a tripod you really do not need VR. Buy what fits your budget.
Keep shootin',

Try this: They own the images but license you to use them as samples of your work and allow you to produce X number of advertising images. When you show an image to someone outside the company be sure to print "with permission" under license on the edge of the image. Also put a date the image is yours.

Mine is my wife as she makes my photo trips so much more enjoyable. She, as I, become lost in photographic moments. Without her understanding I would not be shooting as much as I do or enjoying my time in the field with more camera gear than I need.
I have a 70-200 F2.8 VR I version for sale for $1200.00. Please note this is the Version I, the first model. It is a USA lens and I am the only owner. If interested, nothome@gate.net

Try a 7100 - DX format. Any Nikon DSLR has similar features. I shoot a D800, D7100, and D4s. I have found that there is a lot of knowledge transfer when using each body. I looked at the Df. It is nice but not what I wanted. Your choice of shooting mode should be able to be met in the camera menu or controls. I use A priority most of the time and am very happy with the results. If you like the feel of the Df, give it a second chance shooting in different modes.
Good luck
Film... oh that was the stuff my Dad used. He also had a car with roll-up windows and a carburetor and refused to get power windows and fuel-injection in a new car. Hmmm... Film and chemicals, a darkroom, paper storage... I think I will stick with digital and power windows.
Sorry Delderby in the US many of us love shooting sports. Trap, skeet, sporting clays, five-stand, cowboy action, IPSC, steel, plinking, speed shooting, tactical classes and courses, airgunning, full auto, supressed, benchrest, long range shooting are but a few of the events we have. Stopping robbers does not consume as much ammunition as you may think. On a typical day at the range I could use 300-400 rounds. As yet I have not had the chance to shoot any robbers but I am ready. I even make the majority of my ammunition. I must really be way out on the right wing. Oh well it just must be my calling. Ps I also shoot cameras and a bow.
tonight we had scattered clouds. I have to look at my shots before I get too excited.
clouds in South Florida The moon is up there but not yet clear. Going back outside...
Would love to but some clouds are causing a lack of image clarity.
Guys, all is well in my household. We carry and are ready. Enough said.
