Thanks Rollo62, I'm looking forward to getting some use out of my old, but like new Minolta lenses.

Thank you all so very much for the help with lenses for the sony. I'll go from there and see what happens. So far I tend to favor the Sony A580 from what I read on reviews. Cheers!
Thank you chapjohn, Thats good info and I really appreciate it. I'll check them all out. Probably want to go with one thats still relatively new.
Thank you! Thats good to know. Now I can have a DSLR backup. And recommendations on the best Sony for me to get?
I have a 15 year old Minilta Maxum 9000 SLR which I have replaced with a Nikon D7000. I also have two Minolta lenses, one is AF35-105 F3.5 - 4.5 and the other is AF100-300 F4.5 - 5.6. All are in like new condition. I understand that Minolta was bought out and is now Sony. My question is; if I bought a yet to be decided Sony DSLR body would my old auto focus lenses fit and work? As an alternate I would consider selling all or part of my equipment. to anyone interested. Thank you all for your help and keep on keepin on! I really enjoy this site. I'll send along one picture taken with the D7000 for your comments. Thanks much!

My first camera was an Argus C3. I got it in 1957 to go to a summer camp. It was great camera on which to learn. I had to estimate speed and f-stop. Still have the photos taken back then.
My first camera was a Brownie Hawkeye when I was a kid. My first real camera was a Zeis Contaflex SLR in 1952. I still have the Contaflex but don't use it anymore. Now I'm having fun with my new D7000 and enjoying reading all the posts on here!

Thanks but thats a 2500 mile trip for me. I'll just work with it some more!

Hi Dave, Thanks for the welcome! I have really been impressed by the help that people get when they ask for help! Now even though I'm retired I have to figure out how to make the necessary time to study all the books I have and owners manuals, etc. so I can learn all about that D7000.
Hi, I'm new here. I've been taking pictures for many years but never very seriously. I started with a 35mm Zeis Contaflex SLR in 1951 and worked up to a Minolta 35mm Maxim 9000. Then technology caught up with me so jumped into Digital with a little Fuji in 2000. Then Nikon D5700, then D70s, then D80 and now my very favorite D7000 which I love. Now all I have to do is learn how to use it! I really enjoy reading all the Q&A's here and maybe one day when I know what to ask I'll be on the asking end.
