I got my new lens the other day and today was the first chance I have had to take it out -- AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR --- I love it on my Nikon D500! It's so much clearer than the Tamron 150-600mm G1 lens that I have been using!

Check these out and tell me what you think?

The Nikkor 200-500 can produce superb images. I use it on the D500 and D810 with wonderful results. In fact, I have culled down my most used lens choices to the Nikkor 24-70, the Nikkor 70-200, the Nikkor 200-500, and the Nikkor 105 (Micro). I have many other focal length lenses, but I find these produce the best balance between sharpness and flexibility.

Your images are very enjoyable.

On Wednesday afternoon I wandered around the periphery of Fisherman's Terminal in Seattle looking for piles of rope, nets and pieces of metal that seemed as if they might make an interesting photo. Now you get to be the judge. Thanks for taking a look. Let me know how I did.

I actually prefer this type of subject (colors, patterns, and textures). I am generally attracted to old boats, nets, floats, rusty machinery, etc. I find many subjects in Tarpon Spring/Tampa Bay area (Florida), and in western North Carolina. I was beginning to think I was the only one who enjoyed these images.

Love your images!

Taken late morning.

Judged one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I grew up on that beach, about 5 blocks from the pier.

From the archives. Taken at Lowry Park, now Zoo Tampa, with Nikon D200. Hope you enjoy it.

Everything I checked out for sale on facebook has been a scam or doesn't work according to reviews of the products.

I have stopped purchasing any offer posted on Facebook. I have been scammed twice, and had to get PayPal to intercede. Buyer Beware!

No, I do not have a strap yet, but I'm right handed. I saw a review that the Optech was only for right handers since the camera would hang on the back for a lefty. I'm looking to get one for each of us.

I am left-handed, and find the Op/Tech dual sling harness extremely comfortable and convenient. It can be reconfigured for single carry (left, right or center). There are supplementary extenders and other do-dads that make the harness extremely versatile. The Peak Design anchor links (and anchors) are extremely convenient. Hope this helps

A beautiful and enigmatic fish; often hard to catch and they fight hard on the light lines and small hooks & baits needed to tempt them.

Mullet are vegetarians, and are difficult (almost impossible) to catch on a hook. They can be snagged, but generally won't bite on bait. Mullet are easily caught with a cast net from seawalls, docks, or boat. They are good fried, and fantastic smoked, and make good fish spread.

That would be Tony Northrup's interpretation. I actually shoot with mine, and mine is the sharpest 70-200 I have ever shot with. Proof is in the pudding Tony, not in your video's. The answer lies in my screen name.

I also get remarkable images from the Nikkor 70-200.

In fact, I have come down to the 24-70, 70-200, and 200-500 for incredibly sharp images.

There's a report on water quality in the Hudson Valley. Naturally, it's not good. Arsenic, chloroform, haloacetic acids, and radium come with every glass of water - no extra charge!

I suspect that there is no pure water in the country. We have well water here, and I wouldn't dare have it tested.

I have a summer home in Maggie Valley, NC. The water flowing out of the mountains is as pure as natural water can be. Clear, cold, and refreshing.

A day trip to Tarpon Springs, about 10 miles from Clearwater, might be nice. Tarpon Springs is a long-time Greek fishing community (sponge diving, etc) with authentic color and charm. Visit the Sponge Docks, Spring Bayou, Sunset Beach, Fred Howard Park, or North Anclote River Park. BTW: Delicious Greek food is available at most every restaurant in the city.

Beautiful! My first DSLR was a D200. I have some great photos from it. I had two of them for a few years, one got broken and I gave the other to a brother who doesn't use or appreciate it. Maybe I'll grab it back and give it to my son. I agree about producing the color quality. Did you eat the fish?

Mountain trout are abundant in these streams, and yes, I do catch and eat them.

These are the best shots yet I've seen from the D200! So far, I've only used mine when I've needed 1/8000th sec. shutter speed as my D750 gets most of my attention. (Got the D200 for $35, so couldn't pass it up!)

Despite being old technology, the D200 still records amazing images. My D500 and D810 have trouble producing the same color quality as the old D200.

Due to health issues, it has become difficult for me to get out as much. These images were taken in the area around Maggie Valley, NC., with an old D200....several years ago. Hope you enjoy and comment. Thanks

I have purchased several medium format cameras, a variety of lenses, film backs, finders, light meters, etc, from Japanese vendors on eBay. Each/all have been as described, or better. Shipping is fast and accurate. Japanese tend to take meticulous care of their photo equipment, and have a reputation for honesty and integrity. On the other hand, I will NEVER buy from a Chinese vendor again.
