I got my new lens the other day and today was the first chance I have had to take it out -- AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR --- I love it on my Nikon D500! It's so much clearer than the Tamron 150-600mm G1 lens that I have been using!

Check these out and tell me what you think?

Good evening Cindy - Those are very nice shots. I REALLY like #3. I also have a NIKON 200-500 that I have used on both my D5 and A810 with excellent results.

Have a GREAT WEEKEND shooting

Thanks...it's heavier than the Tamron and will take me a little bit to get used to it but I sure do love the quality I am getting.

You have a wonderful weekend as well!

Really nice lens, Cindy! New lens, big trip plans, you are really nailing this retirement thing.

Thanks! I still need some practice with it...deleted a whole bunch that were badly out of focus... But so happy with the lens so far.

We sure are making the most of it! The lens is a bit heavier than the Tamron...so I did delete a lot of blurry photo's today...but I will get better with it!

Outstanding, Cindy. Makes me want to trade in my Tamron 150-600 G2.

What a great set of lovely, well shot, clear images Cindy! Nicely done. #2 my fave.
I have a couple of wildlife photographer friends who have the same camera/lens setup and are really happy.

Thanks Ken! I debated between the Tamron 150-600 G2 and the Nikkor 200-500. I have the Tamron G1 model and this new Nikkor is sooooo much clearer than the older tamron...I know I am going to love it.

Good Shots & a great lens. I sure enjoy mine. I picked up a used TC 14 E II at a good price. Something you might consider in future. Small, handy and takes you up to 1080 equivalent on a DX.

Thank you! I really like #2 as well...that one just might have to get printed if I can find room on a wall somewhere Today was the first time out with it...so I do have some learning to do to get better with it.

Good choice, Cindy, and excellent photos! #3 is really a unique angle and background for an eagle. Your camera/lens combo will bring you many years and thousands of amazing photos!

I took a look on Google's images on American Bald Eagle and I think most of your photos are better than any of the ones they have posted. I like #3. I used to shot wildlife and sold a few. I'm glad I kept my day job. I have the same set up as you and it is faultless. Good luck with it and post some more of your superb work

Thanks QD....I have been looking for the TC but so far they are out of stock and the used one's I am finding are almost as expensive as a new one! Once I sell the older Tamron lens...then I will be able to purchase the TC.
