I had the same problem once. What happened was that somehow the filter got cross threaded. So, I looked up on the internet on how to loosen a stuck filter. I put the lens assembly face down a hard surface like a kitchen counter. And I gently but firmly applied pressure until I felt the filter snap into place. It worked. If you do that don't apply any excessive force.

I use Monfratto. Its light weight, carbon, stable, and it holds my 500mm lens. I paid $250 for it. I'm glad I bought it.

I'm sure you're aware that Adobe has updated Lightroom and Photoshop. I know there's going to be a learning curve to get used to the changes. But this is crazy. The size of the photo I process used to be 3000 MP X 100 MP. Now I'm getting them back at 720 X 480. And in Lightroom I can't develop them at all. This is a mess!

You are right. I did a test shot of the empty nest. I moved the camera closer and used a flash. It came out much better.

I have a pair of swallows who are nesting in my carport. They have a brood of baby chicks which I tried to photograph using a Canon D7 and a Sigma 50 - 500 mm 1:4-6.3 APO DG HSM. I used a very good tripod. Everything looked fine through the view finder. and the camera screen. It looked nice and sharp until I developed them in Photoshop. Everything was out of focus! I did have the lens extended all the way out. That might have been a factor. I desperately want to shoot them again. and do it right. I'm open to feed back

I have a business policy with Allstate Insurance. I have an agent from Utah who specializes in insuring photographers. I have a full coverage policy that includes losses and liability. Fortunately I haven't had to file any claims. But he's honest and a great guy to deal with. Here's how to reach him:

My first impulse is to tell you, AVOID GREY MARKET LIKE THE PLAGUE!
But here's what I do if I might have doubts about a business's integrity. Check them out with the BBB and look them up on ripoffreport.com That website has saved me from making a few bad mistakes.

I have had to buy and sell expensive items. Here is how I advertise and sell:
1. ebay is off my list!
2. Face book has groups for local buy and sell. I've had good luck with that.
3. If you have to use Craigslist Make sure that you and the buyer meet in a neutral space to do your
transaction, preferably in the parking lot of a police station. Good luck to you.

I have a similar problem with my very first DSLR camera, a Canon Rebel XSI. It was working fine until one day I inserted the card and it would click in the unit. I'm not about to spend a fortune on a beginner's camera.

Yesterday I saw a camera body on line from Best Buy. It is a body only and pick up at store. It is an open box item. Unfortunately the camera is over 100 miles away. I called only to be told the do not ship open box items. Any thoughts?

On occasion while out in the field I've had to buy equipment at Best Buy. Their sales reps are beyond reproach. And they are very knowledgeable. To do business with them is well worth the drive.

Very funny! Fortunately for the kid, he wasn't Jewish. Then everybody would have a problem.

I hung up a bird feeder from my tree yesterday afternoon for the same reason that you did. Throughout the day today i periodically looked out the window to see if any birds found it. I didn't see a single bird! Later this afternoon I went out back to mow the lawn. I checked on the bird feeder. Over three quarters of the bird seed was gone. I still didn't see a single bird.
