1. Is there an adapter that will let a sony lens fit on a Canon Rebel T6i camera?
2. On an old laptop I found a couple thumbnails of photos I took probably 15 to 18 years ago with a Sony Mavica camera. They come up as a .mix file. For the life of me I have not been able to get them to open. I have downloaded several applications that were supposed to open mix files but didn't work. Any thoughts or ideas.

Thank you.

This is my first venture into B&W . . . from a scene i saw today in the Jacksonville Arts Market. I used LR and Topaz Studio to bring about the changes i wanted, (this was taken in color). I did very little cropping to this, but needed to straighten a bit and lost some of my street lamps . Comments welcome.

I am in the throes of exploring B&W and find your capture very interesting and quite nicely done. Thank you for sharing!

Hi, this is my first time posting on this site. I have dropbox to save my photos. Now I want to share one of my photos with a friend by email and am not sure how this works. I want to also just take a photo in dropbox and add it to my photos on my mac so I can edit. Can anyone help me?

The folder structure on DropBox is replicated on your hard drive. If you're using a PC, it's at C:\users\<username>\DropBox. Your photo is sitting in there. Simply copy it to where you need it, or attach it to your email message from there.

Great stuff, Bruce! I especially like your buildings and structures section. My kind of photos, and very well done.

Thank you, Andy. Glad you enjoyed them. I hope to add another section for Black & White, when I feel comfortable with my conversions.

It might be interesting to shoot a few pics with your camera set to B&W.

Should take but a moment or two to find out for yourself?

You are correct. I'll work that angle. You have me curious about it.

I am a student of the Art of Photography. I have been leaning my whole life. I am an amateur and thus I have not learned as fast as if I was a professional. Im am 64 years of age and Photography is still a great creative passion for me. Increasingly so. I am grateful for that. I will continue to learn.

Ditto. ‘Cept, I just turned 69.

How is this easy in PS? I would love to learn. It would be useful to swap heads in some of my group pictures of grandkids. One is always acting up and it's not always the babies! Is there a tutorial on this technique? I use LR CC exclusively and I'm still struggling with PS.

Has anyone moved from Lightroom to On 1 Photo Raw. Is On 1 any better than Lightroom or any regrets. I am looking to simplify my workflow hopefully speed up my work.

I took a hard look at onOne when Matt Kloskowski went to work for them. I bought a license (that I’ve since let expire) and worked diligently with the toolset. I was impressed. Problem was, I had established a workflow (from using LR 3) (that seems to parallel dngallagher’s) and I didn’t like the prospects of changing all that. onOne is a contender for those who have not yet established a workflow.

I did not switch, but added both DXO Photolab Elite and On 1 2019 to my tool set.

Every photo is imported into Lightroom, keyworded and renamed, sometimes developed and exported in Lightroom, sometimes developed in Lightroom and finished in Photoshop, sometimes round tripped from Lightroom to DXO then exported in Lightroom or finished in Photoshop, sometimes round tripped from Lightroom to On1, exported from Lightroom or finished in Photoshop.

For me everything still begins and ends in Lightroom where the catalog owns everything.

I also use Nik plugins, Topaz plugins and Topaz Studio along with a couple other products.

The end is that other tools augment Lightroom for me, but Lightroom is still the center of my world for post processing.
I did not switch, but added both DXO Photolab Elit... (show quote)

I only use OEM ink and paper. Printing your images can be an expensive process and when you start cutting corners the quality suffers.
