Website loads for me. I had the Tamron 600mm on a Nikon D7100 but not happy with it so I returned lens. Bought the Sigma 600mm, that one is so much better.

One day God calls and asks Satan, "So, how's it going down there?"
Satan says, "Hey things are going great. We've got air conditioning

God is horrified. "What? You've got an engineer? That's a mistake

Heaven. Send him up here! "

Satan says, "No way. I like having an engineer on the staff. I'm

God says, "Send him back up here or I'll sue."

"Yeah, right," Satan laughs, "and where are you going to get a lawyer?"

Skunks are your friends when it comes to grubs. I had the same thing a few years ago. I tried chemical first but it done no good. Mine was so bad a badger moved in and got them out. They put their head under the sod and pushed and raised their head every few inches. It looked like a plowed field when they got done. I waited until there was no more activity then took a old riding garden tractor lowered the mower close to the ground. That busted up the sod, then I took a piece of chain link fence and dragged it many times. I added some grass seed and dragged it again. Of course it ruined the mower but it was about wore out anyway. Now you can't see any damage and no more grubs.

After the bird flew away I found I had to set the camera from F9 to F5.6, that's 4 stops before it was set right in manual. I was shooting through a patio window which was tinted and not the cleanest so that didn't help. Lucky I got anything but the D7100 is a fantastic camera for the price.

A pair of house finches seemed to be making out in our back yard. I told them to get a room, but they ignored me. We have children nearby.

Thanks to all who understood I was asking for help to improve this photo, nothing else. For the rest of you I know what to do and how to set a camera. I would rather get a poor picture of a very rare bird than none at all. When I did try to reset the camera the bird flew away. My small movement scared it away. I don't have a camera for every window and lighting condition but I do know birds and to get a few shots fast. I only print 4x6 bird pictures so I'm staying with jpeg it's faster in burst mode. This was the first time I had the camera set to raw.

This is a rare albino redpoll. Nikon D7100 camera was on manual and set wrong for low light but I did get a few pictures. I do have a raw photo but too large to upload.

A google search of that phrase might provide an answer.

I've searched Google and Ask Jeevers. Can't find it.

"A not so smart person keeps talking until they convince themselves and others they are right" I'm not sure this is word for word but it was said I think about a month ago by a politician.

I'm considering the Tamron for my D7100. However I've read on another blog to be sure you get a "good copy". I assume the only way you can determine if you' have a "good copy" is by shooting with it for a few weeks. Then what, return it for another lens and hope it's a better copy?

So my questions are, has anyone experienced a "bad copy" with this lens and what steps did you take to resolve it?

What does a "good copy", "bad copy" say about quality control of production?

I had the Tamron 600mm on a D7100. It was soft past 500mm. so I returned it. I now have the Sigma Sport which I am very happy with.

A couple of hours ago the birds in my yard went nuts and blasted off like they were shot out of guns. I looked out and saw a long pointed tail and pair of large talons showing on the block wall behind the pool slide. Grabbed my camera and powered it up. By that time the bird had gone to the upper terrace, almost twice as far but now in the open. Not wanting to miss it I just pointed and shot off four frames, opened the aperture a bit and one more frame just as the bird took off.
The settings were all wrong, I had been shooting sitting birds on the feeders. So with the heavy shade that made the shots not sharp due to camera/bird movement and a lot of noise lightening the shots up in PP. But good enough for ID, I hope.

#2 Taking off, lots of motion blur, but it shows the color patterns for ID
