Took this shot of a cute house in Half Moon Bay, CA (home of the Mavericks surfing competition) last week that is the definition of location, location, location.
when I need just one lens for a quick day trip, etc., I grab my Tamron 16-300. It's not a lens I would use at night or indoors, but I've been very pleased with the results overall. I've also had the Sigma 18-250 and that did the job, but I like the Tamron more.
How does it import the iPhoto/Aperture library? I have 40,000 photos, organized meticulously, and the biggest problem I've had with the Lightroom import is that it imports all my Projects as Collections, not Collection sets, and I can't figure out how to move new recently imported photos into an existing collection. I haven't been able to figure out how to replicate my organizational workflow in Aperture, which I love, to Lightroom.

I started using Capture One Pro when Apple stopped supporting Aperture. I really like it. It's organizational tools are as good as aperture and the editing tools are much better. I find it much easier to create and work with layers in Capture One than Photoshop. The color editor is great. Particularly like the feature that allows you to automatically create an adjustment layer by color. In addition, Capture One is a terrific RAW converter. Phase One has an extensive You Tube library of webinars that take you through most of the features of the software.
Rocky Nook (press@rockynook.com) recently published a very good book on Capture One Pro 9.

I recently imported about 30,000 iPhoto/Aperture photos into Lightroom off one external hard drive to another hard drive off my iMac, and it seemed to go well, with Lightroom opening up fine on my iMac. My plan is to use the same external hard drive off Lightroom on a MacBook, but it's not working as planned. What am I not doing right on the MacBook? Both have Lightroom 6.
Nik still works great with Aperture also
A couple of shots from earlier this month during a quick drive-thru of the refuge. Had to try out a new Rokinon 8mm fisheye lens (for one of these, at least!
check out Photo Artista. I've used it when I wanted something quick and there's no learning curve.

I've seen these before. Anyone know how The Telegraph would see a photo of someone like me? Any way to "enter" a photo to be considered?
if you have a Mac, MacPhun's Noiseless Pro is the best I've best and very simple.
I've owned and used Apple since 1990 while always having to use a PC for work. I still prefer Macs, by a LONG shot! That's my two cents.
