Lovely images and an interesting update on your Monarch family, Angela. I won't go further, as I've had my say in answer to your PM.

Thank you, my dear friend.... we will always stay friends!!!

Many will miss your beautiful work here on UHH Angela. This forum is becoming sort of a social site to visit with friends more and more over the years. I have you followed on Flickr so will see you there. Still, so many will miss your beautiful, fun and creativity work here. Your one of those who people loved and enjoyed. I will quietly be around on both sites. Take good care of all those fur babies, human babies, insect babies and any other babies in need. See ya...best wishes.

Many thanks, James, for your very touching comment.... I truly appreciate it. You are so right, the UHH has become more like a Facebook site and I'm already on facebook... so that takes up time as well, but thank you for following me on Flickr, as I follow you. I do find Flickr so much faster to post and view.... it would be wonderful if the Hog would change their format.... wishful thinking!!

I will most definitely take care of my hubby baby, grandbabies, fur-babies and monarch babies.... they make my heart sing!!!

Thanks again, my friend!!

Maybe I'll slip into Flickr and see if they accept raccoons!!

Bob, they would accept you with open paws.... a lot of hoggers are on there, but I find the format so much easier and quicker to deal with.
Look me up if you visit!!!

I'll miss you, Angela. I have considered you a friend since I have been on this site. (As much as people can be friends without really meeting or knowing each other.) I hope we hear from you now and then and that you post a few of your wonderful images periodically. Good luck and keep taking pictures no matter where you choose to post.

Ken.

...thanks, Ken.... I considered you a good friend as well and one of my buddies!! If and when they make it easier to navigate on here, I will be back, I just find I'm forever clicking to get things done.... keep trying new things, that's what keeps photography interesting!!!
Take care, my friend!!!

l felt exactly the same a few weeks back Angela so i dont blame you but to be honest i was glad i came back as i was'nt doing anything at all and i started to really miss not posting.I find that it keeps my brain ticking over and i've started to really enjoy it again.I hope after little while away that you get your appetite back for your photo work and i look forward to seeing your lovely photos again.

Lovely photos today as well Angela.
Jim

Thank you kindly, Jim... and I appreciate your lovely comment!!! To be perfectly honest, if this site was faster to navigate, I wouldn't be leaving... I also post on Flickr, so I still have an outlet to post my work and it's so much quicker... you can post so many pictures in one shot!!
Take care and I've always enjoyed your shots!!

You will be missed. My guess is that you won’t stay away for long.

Thank you kindly, MMO.... I enjoyed our friendship!! I'll come back if this site ever restructures it's format, but for now, I post on Flickr which is so much faster to navigate and post.
Take care and enjoy your next adventure!!

I know exactly what you mean Angela, it's exactly why I haven't posted a picture since May, just had to step away for a while...will be looking for you to pop in occasionally, and have really enjoyed your posts and friendship!

Thank you so much, Bob.... this site is just too slow, you have to click to get anywhere and even to post. I also post on Flickr and I find that site wonderful.... so easy and fast to navigate and you can post multiple pictures in one shot!! ...so if the UHH ever updates it's format, I'll be back!!
I so enjoyed your friendship and that's why I found this decision very hard to make, but I thought now was the best time.
Take care, my friend.... I will look in every now and then.

That is great you are helping these critters. I have another home along a Western migration route for a different population of Monarchs that frequent the California Central Coast in Grover Beach. There is a Monarch sanctuary right near my home. Once I move to the area I plan to plant milkweed. Take care.

Thank you for your visit and comment, lamiaceae.... helping the monarchs has been so rewarding... it started last year when I planted my first milkweed and heard that their population was down close to 80%. I watched numerous videos on raising them inside and I've had great success... they say the survival rate outside is only 5% so I knew I had to help!!
Good luck in your new home and plant milkweed... they will thank you!!!

It is hard to believe that your Monarchs will fly 3,000 miles to Mexico ! ! amazing indeed.

I, as many, have enjoyed your photography and you have introduced me to the LensBaby thing. Yes, will be missed.

Thank you kindly, Don, for your lovely comment... I've always enjoyed reading your in depth critiques!!!
....and I will recommend the Sol45 if you want to get your toes wet into the Lensbaby world!!! Inexpensive, small, easy and fun to use and you don't need another adapter to attach it to your camera!!

This will be my last post for a while.... it's time to take a break as I feel this site is consuming all my time and life is just flying by....
This is a bitter sweet decision as I've made so many wonderful friends on here and have enjoyed being part of this family, but I know we will still keep in touch and knowing me, I'll probably pop in every now and then!!

I also wanted to give an update on my Monarchs!

To date I have released 24...15 males/9 female, 3 in chrysalis and a few cats still munching away. I'm still finding eggs on the milkweed and have taken in 5 that have just hatched.... This was a really good year for the Monarchs on Long Island and in my garden.

Cell shots of a beautiful female I released....

Take care and keep clicking!!!

These are beautiful, Angela! I've been thinking about this lens, but haven't decided yet. I have so many Lensbabies, I've been hesitant to get anymore.

Cathy, I caved and glad I did... it's small and fun to use!!
Thank you for your lovely comment.... but I know you'd love it!!
