This will be my last post for a while.... it's time to take a break as I feel this site is consuming all my time and life is just flying by....
This is a bitter sweet decision as I've made so many wonderful friends on here and have enjoyed being part of this family, but I know we will still keep in touch and knowing me, I'll probably pop in every now and then!!

I also wanted to give an update on my Monarchs!

To date I have released 24...15 males/9 female, 3 in chrysalis and a few cats still munching away. I'm still finding eggs on the milkweed and have taken in 5 that have just hatched.... This was a really good year for the Monarchs on Long Island and in my garden.

Cell shots of a beautiful female I released....

Take care and keep clicking!!!

It is hard to believe that your Monarchs will fly 3,000 miles to Mexico ! ! amazing indeed.

I, as many, have enjoyed your photography and you have introduced me to the LensBaby thing. Yes, will be missed.

That is great you are helping these critters. I have another home along a Western migration route for a different population of Monarchs that frequent the California Central Coast in Grover Beach. There is a Monarch sanctuary right near my home. Once I move to the area I plan to plant milkweed. Take care.

I know exactly what you mean Angela, it's exactly why I haven't posted a picture since May, just had to step away for a while...will be looking for you to pop in occasionally, and have really enjoyed your posts and friendship!

Thank you kindly, Don, for your lovely comment... I've always enjoyed reading your in depth critiques!!!
....and I will recommend the Sol45 if you want to get your toes wet into the Lensbaby world!!! Inexpensive, small, easy and fun to use and you don't need another adapter to attach it to your camera!!

Thank you for your visit and comment, lamiaceae.... helping the monarchs has been so rewarding... it started last year when I planted my first milkweed and heard that their population was down close to 80%. I watched numerous videos on raising them inside and I've had great success... they say the survival rate outside is only 5% so I knew I had to help!!
Good luck in your new home and plant milkweed... they will thank you!!!

Thank you so much, Bob.... this site is just too slow, you have to click to get anywhere and even to post. I also post on Flickr and I find that site wonderful.... so easy and fast to navigate and you can post multiple pictures in one shot!! ...so if the UHH ever updates it's format, I'll be back!!
I so enjoyed your friendship and that's why I found this decision very hard to make, but I thought now was the best time.
Take care, my friend.... I will look in every now and then.

Thank you kindly, MMO.... I enjoyed our friendship!! I'll come back if this site ever restructures it's format, but for now, I post on Flickr which is so much faster to navigate and post.
Take care and enjoy your next adventure!!

Thank you kindly, Jim... and I appreciate your lovely comment!!! To be perfectly honest, if this site was faster to navigate, I wouldn't be leaving... I also post on Flickr, so I still have an outlet to post my work and it's so much quicker... you can post so many pictures in one shot!!
Take care and I've always enjoyed your shots!!
