PayPal can be OK but sometimes not.. I sold a camera on EBay for $1600 and it was paid for via PayPal. The cash arrived in the PayPal account and I transferred it to my personal bank account.
I then mailed the camera to the supplied address..
A few weeks later PayPal contacted me and demanded the cash back saying that the item had been paid for using a stolen Credit Card. I shot back an answer denying their request. Legal threats followed which I ignored. PayPal have now frozen me out of EBay.
Seems that their 'protection' and 'safe trading environment' aren't always up to scratch. So please be careful out there....

Well seems as though we've all had a go but it's always going to be the one that almost made it.. It's a great shot, stick it on the wall and enjoy.. I've added a catch-light in the other eye too.

I'd really have welcomed a bit of sunshine but it wasn't to be, it's just a bit dull.. Nice bird though.

Alas the wallet wouldn't stretch to an EIZO.. A 27' Dell U2711 now sits on the desk. Pre-calibrated for sRGB and Adobe RGB at the factory and arrives with an individual Calibration report. I'm really happy with it 'out-of-the-box'. I tried calibrating with a Spyder but the results were 'cold'. Takes ten minutes to settle down after switch on.
Plenty of happy users out there and I waited for a Dell 'window of opportunity' when they dropped from A$900 to A$670. I reckoned that was a good deal. Prints from the lab are spot on for color. We izz very 'appy..
I understand Dell products are cheaper in the US than Oz so maybe there's a bargain to be had.. Go read the reviews and specs.
Just for comparison, locally an EIZO ColourEdge 22" is A$1690 and a 27" A$3500

Gotta disagree with the cheap filters being OK in good light. I've recently run a few tests for a friend who continually got un-sharp images from a 150-500 Sigma even in bright front-lit conditions.. Removing the filter made a real difference in sharpness. The filter was a $25 cheapie that the dealer threw in as a deal sweetener when buying the lens. A top class $120 Hoya has fixed the problem.

Kinopless, that will make Jerrys' tests, that much more meaningful and interesting.

Absolutely, I was amazed at the difference.

It's all head in the sand stuff really. Total denial.
It's a fact that over ten thousand Americans die and will continue to die every year from gun related incidents. Ten thousand !! Japan, that has banned hand guns and severely restricted any other gun ownership loses two or three citizens per year from bullets. Hell of a comparison.
It's a dreadful shame that America has chosen the path of fear, for so many to be scared of everybody and to carry a gun.. A lousy way to live. It's a shame as it's a wonderful country.

Who the hell's King George ?

This argument can never be won..
I would respectfully suggest that the forum moderator remove all of these postings as the Ugly part of the forum's name is really living up to it's name.
Keep killing each other by all means but let's get back to being nice people that enjoy photography.
