Here is a followup: Contacted an Adobe support agent again (3rd time in three days) yesterday and, again, on the phone for more than 2 hours. This agent believes that the reason why the photos cannot be imported into LR is because some of the photos are corrupt. So, moved the photos onto an external drive and tried to import one at a time. While he was on the line, some did import and others could not, so we assumed that the problem was with corrupted photos. The case was closed and the call was ended. I rebooted the system and tried to import only those photos that he was able to import, and now again nothing would import. I am now totally frustrated because I still cannot import photos into LR. I don't know what to do, call Adobe again today (4th time) to get yet another solution, or throw LR in the garbage and seek another editing software?

I told the agent that the problem is that I rely on LR, not only for editing, but for catalogging and Key Wording. So going to another editing package will be difficult unless my keywords can follow the edited photos. The agent suggested that I start using Bridge for catalloging and key wording. So, I will check out some Youtube tutorials on Bridge today to see if it can be a work around for the photos that will not import into LR.
