I bought the Hoya Pro for my Siggy 15-70 and splurged for the B & W to put on my Canon 70-200L. As others have noted, dont risk good glass naked. If you use your hood alot, maybe you could get.away w/o one, but IMOP I'd always cover the glass.
It works good...contacts match up. Thx
Hi all,
I just purchased an Opteka off camera flash sync cord for my Canon 60D and 430 II EX. When ordering from Amazon, it said it was an e-ttl cord, but when I received it, it said it was a ttl cord. It's not the same thing, right? I should send it back?
I used picasa for a few yrs when on my pc, then bought LR. I recently moved to the mac platform and installed LR with a new catalog. There is a learning curve with both mac and LR.
I feel LR is the best image organizer out there with keywords and batch editing. That said, I just bought an entire workflow set of stackablr presets from mcpactions.com. I also like the one click editing when pressed for time. Do the trial..
I checked out this little gadget and I think Ill buy it. However, what if you edit your images from.a.standing position on one.occasion and a sitting position the next? Isnt that the beauty of having a.laptop? In that case, will you need to realign your gadget each time? Just curious.
Robert, I take photos frequently of the youth events in my dimly lit church. Even with my 430 Speedlight, the light fall off is horrid. I have a Canon 60D, Sigma 17-50 2.8 EX series, canon 70-200 f/4L.
If you crankup your ISO to 1600 and shoot at f/4, are your.shots underexposed and you fix in pp? I use LR and found the noise awful when bringing up the shadows of an underexposed handheld photo.
I use LR on my Macbook pro and export to a file on hard drive. However, I'd like to see larger thumbnails when uploading to mpix. Anyone know how to do that?
Everyone's a jokster here today...thanks.for the chuckle.
I have the Sigma 17-50 2.8 EX DC OS. It is a.great walk.around lens for me. It renders tack sharp images, but it does hunt for focus in low light. It's known that Sigmas IQ arent consistent across the board. Some owners have said they didnt get a good copy and.had to send back. I own a.Canon body and it probably needs to be calibrated. But after you have that done, it ranks right up there with the big boys. I do wish it had more reach. For weddings, I'd probably want upwaeds of a 70mm at the long end.
Nice action shots. I own one Siggy, but my Canon 70-200 f/4L on crop sensor serves me well at track meets outdoors.
Bobby, what brand L bracket do you have your camera on? Nice setup. I just joined a nature photog group and havent gone "camo" yet!
Thanks Graham. Great tutorial!
I bought my first Siggy 17-50 2.8 ExDc OS lens amd love it. It does hunt for focus in low light, but I get alot of keepers from this lens. It is lighter than the canon 17-55 2.8 (I bought it and sent it back). I actually ordered the Sigma from Amazon b/c of their easy return policy. Also, My lens came with a 4yr warranty.
You speak of a small chart that you use for caculating hyperfocal distance. Where can I find a chart like that? The newer lenses dont have the markings.
Fantastic series! Do you have a converted camera or did you do these in pp?
