Did not read all six pages of response sorry if repeating, To help fix lighten if you put a winter green gel on flash and set white balance to florescent . when you are in editing program and correcting for color shift both light sources will be the same. If shooting inside always carry a winter green gel for florescent and CTO Color Temperature Orange for incandescent speeds up the post processing.

It's too cold to shoot in the RAW. So I'll try your other suggestion.

Try that in NH and you will get a little more blue in your image.

are these the results you get without tone mapping or the default tone map. HDR allows so much creative input when tone mapping and each program uses a different logarithm. The program to use is the one you feel obtains the look and feel you want with an easy of use.

I'll see your nickel and raise you a dime. On my screen I think the original exposure is on, I would like to see white balance temp a little more blue or colder. Reason is the child is bundle up it is cold out, winter a portrayal of that feeling. I think I read the creator is not comfortable with photoshop/ACR which this could be accomplished easily, so I am not sure what the creator should do with the image until they start to play around with photoshop like program.

If you are using photomatix or HDR Efex Pro when you load in your files to combine their is a ghosting control (your halo's) which should fix this right up.

Never mind my last question. What you said last helped me figure it out! I hadn't seen how to click to open the subfolders in min-bridge, but I got it now.

You ROCK, CaptainC !

If anyone helping me here is using ACR with Mini-bridge on an iMac, perhaps you can help me further...

Now that I have the current ACR Camera Raw as an available option of a Right-Click, when I use the Mini-Bridge to find the NEF image that was downloaded from the camera to ViewNx2, I see the ViewNX2 folder in Mini-Bridge but it won't open it up there to be able select the individual images, when I click on it in Mini-Bridge it actually launches ViewNX2 app, instead.

Any idea how to make the mini-bridge display the individual images that were downloaded to ViewNX2?

[I can't imagine how to Google this question to find the answer on the i-net]

thanks again.

Jeffrey

I am not entirely sure I understand. Your images are not in the ViewNX folder. They are wherever you put them when you ingested the from the camera/card.

I want to be careful here so I don't insult you,but you need to develop a file system that puts image where you know where they are. Every ingest should send images to a folder specific to the subject/theme of the images.

Since you found how to find your sub folders I believe if you right click on the image you wish to open you will see a choice of open with which you will be able to choose pse

Books and prints are great ways to present work, but are still not backups. Fire, flood, theft and any other disaster is what backup are used for that is why it is so important to have an off site backup of all your photo's.

I use Lightroom with keywording to organize. Day to day storage on a Lacie drive & a passport. Backup to a drobo system and off site to carbonite. No images stored on laptop.

side note would any lightroom user be willing to swap keyword lists. Just send me a pm.

Overall pic looks dark to me, also consider doing adjustments selectively, many times the whole picture does not need the effect

sky still looks a little weird

I saw it a couple of times but usually other folks jump in and tell them to back off. For the most part people are nice. But theres always that bad egg. Ignore it.

There are one or two that think they know everything and forget that at one point they did not know anything. As Mouser stated the others on this site jump in and tell them to get a grip and be nice. Hope if that happen to you here you give the rest of us a second chance.

I envision my self as an artist who brush is a camera and photoshop. If you like my finished work great enjoy and who cares how it was achieved. If you don't like my finish work great you don't have to look at them or purchase one again who cares how it was achieved. The only limit is my vision. What you wish to do to your images is your decision and you don't have to tell anybody how it was achieve unless you are trying to be a photojournalist.
