I have the same reaction. INITIALLY, it bothered me. But numbers don’t lie, and I like to stay up to date. It is easier to learn incremental changes than a lot of them at once.

The Photography CC Bundle has been well worth the price. Previously, shelling out $600 for Ps, and $300 for Lr, and about half that for each upgrade, was a lot to pay all in one chunk.

Software is licensed, not sold. Each version requires significant support resources. So companies consider older versions obsolete “abandonware.”

Moreover, when Apple or Microsoft upgrade their operating systems, they often break older software. Fewer and fewer developers are willing to patch older software to keep up with a new OS. month

It’s called SOFTware for a reason. It is changed with the time.

How many of us are still using a ten-year-old computer, OS, and Adobe CS3?

I am pissed off about our throw away society, I am using a 10 year laptop that originally had vista on it now runs Windows 10 cost me ($ 149.00 to up grade to windows 7 nothing for windows 10) $ 1.24 per month. Not what I use for PP

Why all the hullabaloo over 10 bucks a month... everything nowadays is rent to use.... anti virus software, Napster music, Sirius xm radio etc... cheap price to pay for staying current. You spend thousands on bodies and lenses and then bitch about 10 bucks...?

Its not the 10 bucks a month, its 10 bucks a month for the rest of your life.

Quick story I opposed the county that I live in 1 cent tax to fix roads in the county, everyone said its only 1 cent. Problem 1 cent on every $ 1.00 I spend in the county for the next 20 years.

At least the tax has an end.

I have hundreds of slides from when I was in the Navy in the 60s. After looking at slide scanners I decided on making this fixture using my D7100 with a 28-105 AF D lens in the macro mode. The bulb is a 60 watt equivalent LED daylight shinning through a piece of white paper. It works great, and I am sure te cameras sensor is superior to any of the scanners on the market. It is also much faster ten a scanner.

Just GREAT !!
