but I just don't see it!!...This was taken at Thomas Edison's winter home in Fort Myers Florida. Edison was awarded over 1000 patents! Henry Ford was a great admirer of Edison and bought a winter home next to him! When Edison died Ford never went back to the winter home and sold it!

Good one, did you not ask why he had all his lights on?

I think I finally figured out how to layer photos!! Maybe!! lol Am using Photoshop Elements 10. (I know, there's better programs but this is what I can afford.) I need to clean it up some yet. Anyways, what do you think?

Well done for your first effort. You will learn as you do more. I agree that the background is not in proportion the your family. Sometimes I use masks to cut out and others the eraser. Bring your work up close to see better what you are doing.. Look forwards to seeing more pictures. :D

A few more from my travels in South Africa. The shot of the Wild Cat was through thicket, I could not see it! I laid on the floor and placed the camera with the 300 lens into the thicket. The Ranger asked me to slowly get up and walk backwards. Then I saw the Puff Adder, he said it was right near my trouser leg, no sound was heard when it appeared. He radioed for another Ranger to take it away, apparently they are highly dangerous. I quickly took a snap!! Went back to taking the shot of the Wild Cat.

We recently spent three weeks in southern Africa (Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Cape Town), 16 days in the bush and the remainder in Cape Town. After a good deal of reading and thinking, I decided to purchase the Canon SX50 and take it as my only camera. I also took a monopod which I placed between my legs on the floor of the jeep and, for the most part, it worked very well. I shot a good deal in shutter priority and I had the “vivid” selection on for most of the stills and the video. Of course not all of my pictures were good, even with the monopod, but I got a number of good ones, at least to my standards. CC at will.

These keep me challenged.

A few months ago, Joe suggested arranging something that would be an attractive perch for birds. Today, I attached a two foot long pear branch to the deck railing with wire. It worked well enough that I got some closer poses of these guys (better than the in flight shots).

Feel free to make suggestions. I keep trying to learn.

Great shots Vicki, wish we had some girds like that over here.
