Makes me long for my '55 bird with it's McCulloch supercharger. I sometimes have a dream that I find it.

If you go to Monet's Gardens in Giverny, go as early in the morning as possible and go to the lilly pond as the first thing you do. By mid-morning there will be so many people around the pond that it's hard to even see much of it, let alone take any decent photos.

Thanks, so noted.

Sounds like a wonderful trip to Paris! I haven't read all of the comments so I apologize if these have already been mentioned. 1. Promenade Planteé which is like a Paris Highline trail above the city. Plenty of photography opportunities. 2. Sainte Chapelle church with its amazing stained glass windows. 3. Night photography at Notre Dame especially when the fire jugglers are there 4. Bir-Hakeim Bridge - amazing architecture and using it as a foreground for the Eiffel tower. 5. Montparnasse Tower - views of Eiffel Tower and the city - go at sunset 6. Rue Crémieux Street - one of the most colorful streets in Paris. Enjoy your trip!

Thank you, these are some of the places I was not aware of. Will definitely investigate them.

Paris is a favorite. The classic photo from Musee d Orsay from the 5th floor clocks. The Catacombs with all the bones. Le Chapelle is marvelous within the ministry of Justice Compound, but now entered from outside the wall. The Rodin museum. Street photography within the neighborhoods by the Eiffel Tower and in the 9th Arrondissement and in Montmartre. If you have time, head to Normandy. Giverny is crowded now, but still nice. Night photography all over. It’s the city of lights.

Thank you, The Orsay, Rodin and Montmartre, (Emily in Paris), are on the menu when our granddaughter, serving her semester abroad in Milan, arrives for a weekend.

Sights abound in Paris and if you've been there before you probably know the majority of them. Don't know if you have the time or have been before, but a side trip to Amboise and the Loire Valley, DaVinci's final home, Chateau's like Château d'Amboise, Chenonceau and Chambord and others is a worthwhile outing not to mention its also a beautiful valley with beautiful homes and architecture. We rented a car and took the 2.5 hour drive to Amboise, spent one evening, thoroughly enjoyed it.

We were in Paris last year and my feet are still recovering from all the walking in that super-sized city... France has so much to see, Cheers, enjoy and have a great trip.

The Chateau of Chantilly would be a slightly-off-the-beaten-track possibility. I enjoyed a picnic in the nearby woods years ago. Note, if you're going this October, the world rugby championships are taking place in the area all that month. St. Denis, especially, will be teeming with rugby fans. I'm hoping to do some of my photography this fall on the grounds of the Rodin Museum.

Thanks for the rugby heads up. We will be there the first week of Oct.

Thanks, missed Versailles last time, maybe this time. Definitely plan to revisit Rodin. Yes, once you figure out the metro it's great. Kind of difficult to figure out which direction is which when exiting the station to the street.

Thank you. We took the train to Giverny last time and may do it again. Monet is one of our favorites.

My wife and I will be visiting Paris for about 10 days this fall and I would like some suggestions for off the beaten path photo spots. An example would be the small park near the Musee Marmottan with it's small rotunda/bandstand and old hand cranked carousel. We have been to Paris before and will naturally revisit some of the main attractions but I'm looking for the more quaint areas. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I just realized your photo is a mirror image. For a second there I imagined you had found a left handed camera. car rearview?

I am looking to purchase, used of course, a decent Nikon macro lens. I shoot with Nikon D600, D7100, D3500 and my old pal the D40. Would prefer a full frame. The lenses I have don't do true macro shooting justice since none of them get close to 1.1. I have read a 105 is the shortest focal length to keep good a distance. Manual focus would be my choices, mostly for price, but also the older Nikon just seem more robust. I am leaning toward the 105mm 2.8 AI-S Macro. Those that shoot macro alot please give your input. Thank you all.

I have both lenses. Both are FX lenses.
Nikon 55mm, 2.8, 1.2, compatible with the PK extension tube to achieve 1.1. Weight 10.1 oz. B&H new $419.00, KEH used EX+ $200.00. Manual focus only.

Nikon 105mm 2.8, 1.1. Weight 1lb 10.1 oz. B&H used, $540.00, KEH price EX comparable. Auto focus but at very close distances the auto focus sometimes struggles and at close distances the widest f stop becomes 3.8.

I would expect to trim the print myself after receiving. That aside, is it possible to order a full frame print regardless of the paper size. Perhaps that would fall into a different category, perhaps custom, with added cost.

Why can't the printer be instructed to print the photo, cropped or not, full frame on x sized paper? For instance, print full frame on 16x20 inch paper and then just trim the print. That seemed to work back in the film days.
