Wow, either you guys have some crazy heavy humididity, or you worked some neet pp magic. Not your usual style, but I like it. Ran across another guy a while back that was all concerned about his distant blue mountains instead of them being green n such. I liked his too. Is this your artistic side coming out?

Don't get me wrong. I like seeing those beautiful red stone Ootah mountains. But the blue cast is hypnotic.

Oh yeah, the bird looks pretty cocky. Or did you provoke him somehow?

Hello everyone. One problem with getting old and posting infrequently is not remembering if you've shared a set of images before. If these photos that we took in 2017 are repeats, I apologize. Just a little holiday fun from both of us. Everyone in the family is fine and we're looking forward to the holidays. Perhaps we'll even break out the lights and camera.

PS. I'm a fan of pin-up photography. My model smiles, makes me smile, and tends to look at the camera. Sorry in advance to all the serious boudoir types.

I have to admit that I was getting worried. If you posted since last year's "borrowed Christmas tree", I missed it. It is a big relief to see that you are both well and happy. Wishing you a long and happy life together.

I went out a few days afterwards and tried to shoot a sequence of images that might work, but they didn't because I'd mistakenly taken a camera I hadn't used in quite a while and the battery gave out on me halfway through the shooting.

Today, on the other hand....

A variety of details --both technical and aesthetic-- would be worth including in this offering, but those would take paragraphs and paragraphs to describe or demonstrate. For the present, however, here's a 'first' (well actually, a second) attempt at producing an image in the manner of Spanish photographer 'Pep Ventosa'.

Fuji X-T3, 14mm Fujinon XF lens, 24 exposures total that resulted in a 3.38Gb stack upon which to work.

Amazing light and color.
Wow. 24 exposure. I'm still struggling with one.

You should have read the license plate frame. It says 1965. Just like the round tail lights.

Hi there puzzlers - have a go at this one - suggest an answer but DON'T give your method (I want to keep people guessing for a bit) - I'll post the solution in a few days time!

Enjoy

My first car was a '71 Nova Super Sport 350 4-speed. It's still in my basement.

Happy Wednesday

Seeking a program to select random pictures, copy each into a new folder, and arrange into a new sort order without changing their file name. Once into the new folder, arrange and into my selected sequence/order.

Your ideas pls.

Just don't be surprised if you end up with a worse mess than you started with.

Sorry kids

I'm not a good historian. But this is so close to Greek / Roman sculpture that I think it deserves a spot in an art museum.

I posted this image in the Dynamics of Photographic Lighting section, but I think it doesn't get very much traffic so I'm posting here as well. Close up of two shot glasses set up in my photo studio. I love the interaction of the refractions and the shapes that they produce. I also included here a schematic of the basic setup. It's very straighforward.

Interesting!

You've got me thinking about all the shot glasses I've collected over the years and what kind of effects could be generated. But first I'd have to fabricate a shooting set up. Maybe white and black poster board in the bay window for a light source. Humm.
