It seems that Station Wagons are now in vogue. Personally, I would love to own Pontiac's version of the Chevrolet Nomad, named the Safari, but they now exceed what my bank account will allow!

I've always liked station wagons. My buddy used his folk's '62 Chevy wagon when we were in high school. Buick, Audi and Volvo have similar and nice looking station wagons, presently that I'd be proud to own. You got some good shots here, Rodder. The white wagon is a '65 though. BTW, which Safari is your preference? For me, it's the '57.

Mine too.
I was in a band, and I was convinced to get a Ford wagon.
Took out the rear seat and heavily carpeted the whole back.
For some odd reason this made it harder to get dates,
Sometimes they thought it was my folk's car.
Othertimes they KNEW it was for parking.

You should have read the license plate frame. It says 1965. Just like the round tail lights.

A friend and I were talking just last night, comparing minivans and SUVs. I then mentioned what ever happened to the station wagon? And then you brought these out this morning. Maybe I'm in the Twilight Zone.

Latter day SUVs. Could prolly carry more cargo in those than in todays SUVs.

I would say the 1969 ready for a picnic is a 1959 or 1960 with the tail lights and the fins.

My friend had a 1968 Chevelle 396 wagon with 200K miles on it. He took it to get some engine work done, and when he got it back, low and behold, the V8 was gone and a 144 straight 6 was in its place! Things went down hill from there
