I have an SB 800 that didn't want to fire up, so I gave it a good knuckle rap in the side. The unit fired right up and now works just fine.

I need help with printing photographs. I am using a Mac computer, Lightroom and an Epson P800. I would love to find someone in the Charleston, SC area who might be able to help.

Here's a good starter for you, this guys all about inkjet printing. Have a look at his playlist to narrow down your search. Click on the playlist title, not on the number of videos. It will make it easier to view the list.

Let me clear up several things that I’ve seen in the comments.

If you’re using OEM ink in your Pro-100, you shouldn’t see any fading for many years if you take care of the print. This would mean such things as; dark storage, displaying under glass, protective spray, lamination, avoiding prolong exposure to direct sunlight….

Whenever Canon Pixma Pro printers set idle for more than sixty hours an internal timer triggers an ink purge. The printer remains idle until it gets a command from the operator and then does the purge prior to printing.

yes i got couple of epson printers too, like 3880 and 1400, but when i removed the printhead from my 1430 to cleaning and injecting cleaning fluid to the holes, after installing printhead back and installing cartridges, because you have to remove them before cleaning the printhead as you know, all cartridges are not recognized

FYI, you don’t have to remove the printhead to clean it or to inject cleaning fluid into it. There are lots of Youtube videos that demonstrate how it’s done. Now I wonder if you have created an electrical problem somewhere during the cleaning process or the rewiring? The other thing that I wonder about is; after you load the cartridges, close the lid and turn on the printer, does the start button continue to flash and are you remembering to push the ink button to activate the printer?

I HAVE JUST CLEANED PRINTHEAD OF ARTISAN 1430 AND AFTER INSTALLING IT BACK AND STARTING PRINTER THE CARTRIDGES ARE NOT RECOGNIZED I MEAN WHEN I'M ADDING CARTRIDGES ONE BY ONE EACH OF THEM IS ACCEPTED AND IT DOESN'T MATTER WHICH ONE I'M ADDING FIRST, BUT WHEN ALL OF THEM ARE INSTALLED, THE PRINTER REFUSES ALL OF THEM AND IT DOESN'T MATTER WHICH ONE I'M ADDING LAST, DOES ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ?

Your opening statement is a little hard to understand. It sounds like you removed the printhead for cleaning and I have to wonder about that since that's quite the task. I tend to think you removed the cartridges for the cleaning and then reinstalled them. I think you would be better served if you explain how you went about the cleaning.
I have three Epson photo printers and know something about head cleaning and some of the other problems with Epson printers. I haven't been around your printer but I'll sure it's similar to the five that I've owned.

In its day, the K1000 was the suggested camera for photography classes at many collages. It was reasonably priced and its manual operation made it a great learning tool. When my ex-wife wanted to learn photography, it was the camera I got her. She used it for many years, mostly on family. Recently she offered it to me, but I declined knowing it would end up living in my shed with my other old cameras.

I think the OP just might be a snowflake. I suggest a day of commenting in the Attic to harden him up.

I think the key to keeping this printer working properly is to regularly run a print head cleaning, because after I do that, it prints nicely.

A print head cleaning should be done only as a last resort. When you do one, the printer attempts to draw a large amount of ink from each cartridge and send it to the waste ink pads in the bottom of the printer. The printer monitors the amount of ink that goes to these pads and one day might decide too much ink has gone there and kick out an error message halting all printing until the problem is resolved. As others have said, the best way to maintain a printer is to use it often. A small 2x2 inch print several times a week will keep it healthy. Other things to consider is to leave the printer always turned on. This prevents the ink wasting purge that occurs when you start the printer. Also keep the printer closed up when not in use. This keeps the dust out and seems to help keep the ink from drying out.
