Thank you d2b2 & jerryc41. Appreciate the positive feedback. They're my 1st on UHH & unfortunately, I thought they looked dark on the site vs. how they looked on my monitor. I may have to align my monitor.

The second was a bit dark, but not overly so. I think it conveys the mood or the storm, however you interpret it. Frankly, I lean toward the dark with many of my shots, specifically for the mood. I like them!

What software did you use for post processing. They look more like paintings than pictures. IMHO.

Frank, these are stunning photos! Welcome to UHH; glad you came onboard. (Nik Color Efex gets a lot of use in my household also)

1st is a shot of the Bass Harbor Lighthouse & the 2nd is of the coastline in Bar Harbor. Both were shot with a Canon EOS 5dIV & EF 24-105mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM.

Dramatic captures, fbeaston! Welcome aboard. I'll be looking for more of your posts.

Annie-Get-Your-Gun ... thank you for the feedback & for the welcome. I appreciate it.

Linda From Maine ... thank you for your feedback & for the welcome also. And thanks for the link. I like what I've seen Burkphoto post on UHH ... he's clearly very knowledgable. But my head was spinning after reading that post so I'm going to have to dig I guess. It was a surprise to me to see the difference between what was on my monitor viewing files from my hard drive vs. looking at the same photos on UHH with the same monitor. I'm going to work on that before I post again. But I very much appreciate the input.

All you need to know is to save as sRGB color space. The choice is in the "export" section of some editors (LR/PS??). In PS Elements that I use, I only had to set it once and it stays that way.

Did you look at the "download" version after you posted to UHH? That displays the true colors. If they still look a little dark to you, it's just the website. But they looked super-duper to me

Thank you Linda ... I sent you a PM with questions & you seem to have anticipated a couple of them. I'm going back to Lightroom where I do most of my processing to figure out how to export to sRGB. Thank you.

Well, I think this qualifies under the heading of you can teach an old dog new tricks ... but after your post Linda, I went back & sure enough, there was the option to export my photos from Lightroom to sRGB. As you mentioned in your PM, I don't usually print large prints, so for the moment, I'm going to try to work with sRGB. I exported the 2 files out of Lightroom as sRGB profiles & did a test upload on a new topic & to my tired old eyes, I think they came out less dark. I was going to upload them here but haven't figured out how to add photos to a reply. I thank you for your kind assistance.

Well, my tired old eyes may be playing tricks on me ... or maybe it's wishful thinking ... but after following Linda_From_Maine's advice & exporting the 2 files from Lightroom with an sRGB color profile, it seems to have resulted in them coming out closer to what I tried to submit. Thank you Linda ... & thanks to all who offered constructive suggestions. It's been a great learning experience for me. And thank you to anyone who has followed this post, for your patience as well.
