Had a similar experience with a KitchenAid hand mixer. Had it for years and one of the gears broke, only one beater would turn. Called KitchenAid customer service to see if I could get parts, they said the same thing, cut the cord off, give us your name and address and they sent me a brand new one no charge. That's customer service.

I had the same thing happen with my George Forman Grill, i received a new grill complete with all the accessories. I returned the cutoff power plug and a check for $7.50 to cover shipping.

If you turn that little black handle upside down, you will find a single phillips head screw. Easy fix. We have the same model. Can you sort thru the stew to find the screw before it whacks someones molar.

Look at the comments in the OP's post. All pretty much positive toward the manufacturer of the crock pot. I suspect most of us who might be in the market for a crock pot would look favorably toward that manufacturer and purchase that brand. Now if only all manufacturers would realize how much good will and resulting future sales come from customers who purchased that product and who speak well of it.

My favorite way to make chili is the CP, although I use the smoker to prepare all the chili meat.....so it's like a two day affair.
