I have that same Crock Pot, that was your free replacement. I forgot what I paid for it, and where I purchased it from. Mine was bought several years ago. The one before that, just stopped working. Depending, how much you use it, your new Crock Pot should give you many more years of service. You, should be able to fix the old plug, and repair that lid. So, if you have extra guests, you won't have to make two separate pots of stew.

I thought about fixing the old one but I have no need for it and my son didn't want it.

That's the same crock pot that I just bought to replace my old one. It works well. My old one still worked fine, but it had a dent in it and the color was very old green that many kitchen appliances used to be. Very out dated so I replaced it.

I believe that was AVOCADO GREEN. A very popular color back in the 70's along with Harvest Gold.

I hope TomC answers this, I would be interested. Since it is so old maybe it is Japan, not made in China yet.

China for old and new one.

Some name brands have incredible reputations. Not by accident....but because of their demonstrated performance.

I have several Crock Pots. I find them wonderful for slow cooked stews, soups, etc. They are also great for holding/serving chili and soups for guest. They are not great for general cooking.

My favorite is more of a counter-top roaster....because it gets much hotter, can braise and brown, cleans up easily, and makes superb dinners.

NESCO is the brand I have used for 40 years. Volumes range, but basically the internal surface is stick-proof, and the fully adjustable temperatures range from off to 450 degrees. I can roast a chicken, bake a beef or pork roast, make soups/red sauce/chili or pot roast. it will do it all.

Sounds great.

One of my very favorite dishes, Tom, and it's way too late at night for you to be tempting me to look for a snack!

When referring to people use "who". When referring to objects, animals, entities, groups, use "that".

I think they are sensitive after last year's television show (not sure if it was "This is Us" or what - it was very popular) featured one of the lead characters perishing in a house fire triggered by a fire started by his slow-cooker.... Crock-Pot was not mentioned by name, but they put out a press release saying it was NOT a Crock-Pot and that they have a very good record of not burning people's houses down and killing them as they sleep.... Still, it hurt their corporate feelings...

It's nice when a company stands behind its products. So many do not.

That sounds familiar, but I don't watch that show.
