Didn't realize you could do that, R … does it take long?

No, it's a standard procedure for making enlargements during post-processing.

So, you're saying this business about 5-axis IBIS
for Video use - holds true of BOTH cameras, then.
So, at least - it's there - even if it isn't available
for Stills. The T7i and EOS 77 also have stabilized
video. Isn't it possible - all FOUR cameras - share
the same mechanism, then? .........

Video-only "IBIS" is not a mechanism.
It's firmware.

I use Photoshop CC, C and I just up-resed a photo from 15MP to 27MP.

Is this instant, R, or does it require several steps?

I take it that you don't use Photoshop or if you do use Photoshop you'ver never enlarged a photo during post-processing, right? While it's a simple process, it does require more than one click of the mouse. I'm sure there are many Youtube tutorials that will guide you through the process.

I do, now, actually, R … I have Elements 7, I think it is. Whilst I have used it some, since I got it, I use it mostly for REDUCTIONS, NOT Enlargements, in order to make it easier to transfer them on the Net - using my Dial-Up connection. If I try doing transfers of original-sized files, it takes forever, and, invariably, some idiot will call me, and knock me off-line, before it completes. So, now, I make everything smaller - usually 20% for 20MP images, and 25% for 24MP images. I've messed with its other features, but, I'm afraid, I don't have much patience, attempting to change every single pixel in an image. I soon give up!!!!

I have the 6DII, which takes great pictures, but I will be getting the new RP. I did not like the R model with that bar in the bar but this new camera excites me because it is so small and has the mode dial back on top. I predict that Canon will sell many of these. Initially, they are including the adapter so your EF lenses work like a charm.

Yes, and isn't THAT thoughtful of them, Antonio?

er … "bar in the bar" … ???

Antonio … how's the 6D2 in low light? … Do you have any problems with res, in those situations?

I just received my EOS R 2 days ago and I'm bummed because it's been raining non stop so I have only played with it inside in low light but what I've gotten so far I'm really happy with; I can't wait to get this outside on a sunny day. So far - I'm very happy. That being said I will always turn to my 5D's for serious work - at lest for now. I'll post some shots soon.

Oh, thanks, Daniel … will be looking forward to seeing some shots from your Canon EOS R ….

This post, though - is about the more recent Canon EOS RP ….

I also have a 6d2 with battery pack that I picked up last month for $1199 (included an extra $100 perk from Adorama). Also have a 7d2 for moving stuff. My main travel camera is, however, a Sony a6000 with a handful of lenses. The latter may be on the used market soon. As I'm really tempted to jump on your bandwagon. "It's a gas, gas, gas....."

Fox … foxy!!!! … 1200 smackers, huh, for the 6D2 w/ a spare battery???

Is this NEW, or Used, Fox?

To the OP, I think it is too early to tell. This is one where I would say wait a bit to see what actual reviews have to say (tho my sense is that all reviews of Canons trash them even though they are excellent cameras). I will say though the eos rp interests me more than the R because of its price and small size. This is just a personal thing though. I mostly use a 5d mk iv but I have an sl2 that I use in my kayak and other boats. I actually really like that camera for all kinds of perverse reasons (it has almost no fancy features so it is like me and the camera or something like that) and it works for me. The eos rp strikes me as a camera of about the same size that actually has some features I might use and is small enough to be a travel/hiking camera. I have been using a Sony a7riii for that purpose, but I miss shots because odd features I don't know existed get activated and I have to spend way too much time figuring out what I did wrong and then figure out how to fix it by which time...... I like the announced simplicity of this one. My general sense is that it takes awhile to get the bugs out and what I really want is some kind of 5d camera that combines the features of the 5d mk iv with the megapixels and resolution of the 5dsr, but Canon seems to be going more in a consumer direction now, so who knows when or if they will produce such a camera. In the meantime, if I were going to move to Canon mirrorless, I think the rp makes more sense. I am not sure I see the point of getting the 6dII at this point, but that is just me.

Cameras are really about what YOU shoot and what YOU like and dislike in a camera's features, so my opinion here isn't particularly relevant, but I have used a lot of cameras from different companies and the rp has peaked my interest more than some others because of investment in glass. Otherwise I might seriously look at one of the Nikon zs.

Selene … there IS a 5D S R Update in the works … never fear!!!!! …

Both of these cameras (6D2, RP) appeal to me, because of their low cost, compared to ALL other FF Canons. In fact, the only Spec I can see on the 6D2 which bothers me, is the lack of 100% VF coverage. Other than that - it comes across, to me, anyway - as a pretty good bundle, with its built-in GPS, and fully articulating touch-screen. (Only wish it were 3.2" instead of just 3") ... there are some reservations, however, about how well it performs in Low Light, as well, as how good the Res is, in low light. Some reviews have indicated, the Res falls off, in the areas, in which the AE has not done its job, effectively. It remains to be seen whether these same problems, plague the new R and RP MILCs. We'll see ...

Chris, the people I know with a 6D2 think it works very well in low light. I think on paper the 5d mk iv is supposed to be better than the 6d (original) in low light, but one of the things I really liked about my 6d was that "it could see in the dark." I could find focus no matter how bad the light was. Those I know who upgraded to the 6d2 have told me it is just as good.
