Finally decided to buy a new D750 from B&H, ordered on Thursday evening, was shipped in two packages was supposed to be delivered Monday, it wasn't . Tracking says one package containing the spare battery was delivered, it WASN'T. (at least not to me) Tracking also says the other package was refused. It wasn't by me. Furthermore, tracking says it was refused in Pittsburgh, my address is NOT Pittsburgh
I called B&H and they say they can do nothing until it gets back to them, IF it gets back to them. I cannot find a number for FedEx
B&H also says they will refund my card when the camera gets back to them, but what about the package they say is delivered, I know of no way I can prove I did not receive it.
I also reviewed my order on B&H,s web site and the address IS correct

The problem is with the carrier, not B&H. Once it is in the carrier's hands, B&H, or any business has no control over what happens to your package. You will have to file a claim with FedEx.

I have had almost nothing but problems with UPS and try to prevent anything being shipped by them. They either never deliver my package or leave it at the wrong apartment or take it to the US Post Office to have them deliver it the next day. When I tried to file a claim the first time I was told that I don't have a claim because I am not the one who paid the shipping charges and the shipper doesn't have a claim because the package was picked up from him okay. Never had any problem with FedEx.

I've had a couple mix-ups with smaller items from B&H and Adorama (items were in the $25 and under category, slightly used Nikon batteries, a used David Busch book, a used Vello trigger and such) over the last 2-3 years. When I contacted them for RMA, I was told to keep each item as their gift, and they either replaced it with similar or refunded my money. I have no reason to go elsewhere, although I do buy from all of the "UHH recognized biggies" of either new or used gear. I've never spent large $$ at either place, but I do buy small items fairly often. And the stuff always arrives promptly.

Amazon does.

Why are you upset with B&H?

Why would B&H be responsible for shipping anomalies?
Is it because they would not credit your account until they received the returned merchandise?
(I don't know of any store that would.)

The hand off is an agreement between the big 3, to improve cost effective deliveries (and keep them all from going broke or making delivery costs astronomical) they work together, both in the shipping hubs and in the local routes. Logistics is a huge, complicated and costly process. We are lucky in the US to have a system that works pretty well, just like tap water and electricity. Yes there can be local issues.

I just recently had a couple little "issues" with B&H/FedEx(mostly FedEx).

When I purchased my Tamron 70-300 mm lens at the beginning of this month, eeregarding delivery, it said, "A signature IS (not may BE required) for delivery. The delivery was two days earlier than FedEx said it would be(great)!
However, I was there WHEN the package was delivered, and not only did the driver NOT bother to get a signature, he NEVER even KNOCKED on the door to see if I was there, but just LEFT my package by the door!

Since there had RECENTLY been a news story saying be careful of porch pirates in OUR area, and I was EXPECTING my package to be safely signed for upon delivery, I called B&H, and "reminded" them of their own statement regarding delivery, and was told" it is up to the delivery driver whether or not a signature is required.

So I called FedEx, who immediately tried to blame B&H, saying THEY are the ones who determine whether the delivery is signed for!
I just recently had a couple little "issues&q... (show quote)

It is possible to code a delivery to ask for a signature and it is possible to code a delivery requiring a signature. In the former instance, the driver has leeway and may deliver without a signature if he or she deems it safe to do so. In the latter, the driver is constrained and should obtain a signature no matter how "safe" the neighborhood seems.

Ultimately it is up to the delivery driver whether or not a signature is required. Once the package leaves our warehouse we have no control over the driver.

PS I cannot say that every sales and customer service employee on the phones was born in the USA, but I can say with certainty they all work in our Manhattan office.

Perhaps a little patience and trust that B & H will make it right. It's only Tuesday! You must have had confidence in B & H when ordering the 750. Give them a chance to investigate and satisfy you as a valued customer. I have never found them lacking in customer service & support. I'd contact my credit card company and register a dispute.

I agree with cmc4214. I have spoken to people at B&H about the deterioration in their delivery service and they tell me that a couple of years ago at Christmas, UPS, their previous shipper, was unable to deliver everything on time. My memory is that all the delivery services were having the same trouble because online shopping had ramped up suddenly enough to catch them unprepared. B&H switched to FedEx as a result.

I went through something similar last year with a Fed Ex delivery from Dell. You can call the Fed Ex customer service. You will speak to a foreigner who will give you the runaround. In my case it was two weeks of “driver came but no one was home” BS. Finally via escalation to Dell 3 times, got the order cancelled and a refund. If I find an order is shipping via Fed Ex now, I’ll cancel it. Never have a problem with UPS.

Fed Ex is the reason I don't buy from B&H anymore and I've bought a lot on the past.

I had a similar problem with bbq parts. Contact your credit card company. That’s how I got my money back for items I never received. The parts company resisted but lost. Worth a try. Good luck.

I agree, contact your credit card company, they can help you with this situation!

I am so sorry you are facing the stress and uncertainty of this hassle. The very first thing I would do is contact my credit card company, explain the problem and put the charge into dispute. American Express is especially good with this. They take over and deal with the vendor so that you don't have to. Good Luck!

Interesting about Fed Ex.
I have sent many items in the value department of 10s of thousands of dollars and yet to have any issue with delivery.
I agree that the problem is most likely the individual driver in your area.
Our UPS driver here was recently murdered and likely in a drug deal gone bad we suspect.

Shout out to Henry and to B&H. They are here for us, right here, right now, online... Can't get much better service than that. It is early in the episode, hopefully all will be resolved, painlessly (other than wait time).
