Be glad to help. Private message or a topic. Phone if necessary!! Basically, when you commit to the Adobe CC Photographer's plan for $10 a month, you download and install the program called "Adobe Creative Cloud". It manages your account and programs. From within that application you pick which app, like Photoshop, then it will be installed.

Dog leashes will be a "snap". Inside Photoshop, you (1) select them and (2) fill in or replace them with computer generated pixels.

Thank you!! I’ll see what I can do with your suggestion and pm you if I need more help. Very grateful for your kindness.

Hi Linda,
For #1, I just used the clone stamp. Not as easy as the crop or content aware fill, but still pretty simple. For #2, I changed the rules just a little bit. Instead of removing the offending pole, I straightened it back to where it probably was in the first place. For that, I selected it with the polygon lasso tool and then use d the puppet warp to do the straightning. After that I mostly used the clone stamp to put the wires etc. back and cleaned it up a little with the spot healing brush tool.

Thanks so much for your efforts! I wouldn't have guessed that software that "old" would still work You're one of the lucky ones!

One tip: when you finish, double-check to see if any "pattern" has emerged. Sharp eyes will pick up on that - a red flag that cloning was applied.

Bonus points for thinking outside the box with the pole, Lloyd On the edges of the hops fields, there are rows of these angled poles that hold the wires taut (I guess that's the reason - at any rate, it's a normal look.). Glad you participated in the exercise!

Yes, I purposely "stamped" from all different areas to avoid that "patterened" look. Currently working on picture 2 which is a definite challenge with Photoshop Element 2! Any advice?

Which tools do you have available in that version? Earlier participants in this thread mentioned combinations of cloning brush, healing brush, copy and mask + the content-aware move or fill tool.

I suspect best to work in very small sections. For straight line cloning such as the wires, try clicking first spot, then hold down shift key and click end spot.

Personally, I wouldn't have had the patience to attempt on this picture, so it must be good practice

Content awareness is an amazing concept. I used the spot healing brush exclusively. I tried other tools but didn't like the results. I took the liberty of removing what I think were windmills and thought about removing all signs of humanity but this is your vision not mine.

Your "amazing concept" comment gave me a great smile. I continue to be enthralled by the magic of pp five years after buying the software I still use.

Many thanks for your terrific edit, so glad you enjoyed the exercise!

Please remove all evidence of the fence in #1. If that's too easy, remove the angled foreground pole in #2.

Re-post your edit, and explain your steps and software used. Many thanks for your participation in this exercise!

You know, Linda, I figured, what the heck, so I cloned out the mountain as well. To do the task I used Photoshop's content aware, cloning and basic copy/paste.

LOL, mountain be gone! Thanks so much, Rob. Except for a few little smudges in the sky, it looks great.

The fence was pretty easy. In Photoshop, I used healing brush tool for wires, content aware fill for posts.

Leaning pole: a pain. Experiemented with content aware, but a dark ghost always was left in the sky. So, did a content aware fill for the poles and mountain, painting stuff to be included in and out until I finally got a result that only demanded a little cloning for the mountain to fix. Then, the sky. UGH! Highly labor intensive, so I've done only a proof of concept instead of the whole thing, not wanting to starve to death as I worked on it. I cloned each wire to 1/2 of the pole where it went behind it. Did just a little clean up cloning of sky in one section.

Photoshop CC 20.0.2. First image: Select most of the lower left corner, Edit > Fill > Content Aware. Second image, the same but in multiple sections. The sky might improve a little with some manual work. Recent upgrades to the Photoshop in the CC plan have beefed up the "Content Aware Fill" to make the CC subscription worth it for this function alone.

I tried to follow your instructions but couldn't "Content Aware" was grayed out & wouldn't open when I clicked on it. Looked in Help & found I had version 19.x.x. So I went to the Adobe Creative Cloud menu to see if there was an update ... & the Photoshop CC icon said "Open" (vs. update available as I'm used to). I clicked on "Open" & PS CC opened in version 20.x.x, however the "Content Aware" menu pick was still grayed out.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I'd check that import setting and Image Mode are set to RGB.

For the CC update, try opening the menu (three vertical dots)in the upper right corner. There is a choice to "Check for updates". If that doesn't work, try signing out and back in to your Adobe account. Then do the menu again.

For the content aware fill, the most common error I found in a google search was that it will be grayed out if a selection is not made or made correctly. Can you describe your selection method?
