You realize that Jefferson was a deist, don't you? If you don't know what that is, it is a long way from being a Christian as you understand it. You should look it up if you are going to link Jefferson to an all-knowing God that controls everything. Jefferson was repelled by the very idea.
You might ponder why when Jefferson founded the University of Virginia, the original deed that transferred the land to the university stipulated that there were to be no churches on campus. Sound like a Christian to you?
And as others have pointed out, the Declaration was not the founding of the nation. It only asserted that the colonies no longer recognized the British law or government as sovereign.

Until the British were overthrown the country couldn't be formed. It had to start with telling the king to bugger off. That isn't the same as being the country's founding document. It is an important historic document, but it has no legal standing. Call it a stick in the kings eye, or a FU to the king, an "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore" statement. What it isn't, is the document our country is based on.

Try taking a case to court based on the Declaration of Independence. The courts do not recognize it as law, and that's not just judges nominated by democrats.

I am not a foreigner. My family came from Mexico, I have posted some old photos of them in Mexico. I was Born in AZ, thus a native American citizen. We spoke Spanish in the home so English was learned later as I entered school. I still have close relatives there as well as other parts of the world. I have no problem with the truth and the President is telling the truth about Mexico.
