Looking for music track suggestions.
If you need royalty-free music and want to be able to completely edit/customize the music for length and composition, I use Smartsound. It has over 4000 selections to purchase. You need their software application called SonicFire Pro, to get started. I love the whole package. Well thought out.

Doesn't it depend entirely on the nature of the photos? I've used most of the tracks listed above, from Brubeck to Beethoven, from Keb Mo to Wolfgang Mo. It all depends on the mood (In the, Indigo, Notinda) I'm looking for to accompany the visuals.
One thing I've always thought, though - It's rare that vocal music works on a slide show. It's all too easy to lose the focus from the visuals to following or singing along with the words.

Looking for some suggestions for instrumental or artists for sound tracks to put to landscape slide shows. What factors make for a good accompaniment?
My musical tastes are pretty well limited to Van Morrison and hits of the 60's and 70's. Looking for something a bit more contemporary but easy listening.
Something for you and others to know. If you plan to put anything on UTube that has music attached it must be music that is not copyrighted. You can easily find music via a google search. UTube offers music at it's site although I have not used that. If not going public with the piece any music will do, including that found through Apple. What makes a "good accompaniment" depends on the type of images and the tone you want to set.

Use the rarely heard anymore classics, Victory at Sea, Dr. Zhivago, some movie sound tracks that convey movement, urgency etc. like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Or pick and choose selected pieces by the old classical composers.
Steve Windwood when you see a chance ?
Even Jethro Tull Aqualung

If you post your slideshow to YouTube it's likely they'll take it down for copyright infringement. I found that out the hard way.

If these shows will be shown to the public, as opposed to family or friends, make sure you use royalty-free music. There is a lot of that available online.
I have requested Van Morrison's, "Bright Side of the Road" be played at my funeral or maybe, Brown Eyed Girl". probably not good for
slide show background. How about Beethoven's, "Ode to Joy", (sans lyrics) for the slideshow.
Earl Klugh or Chet Atkins
