Ebay is really iffy! Only purchase from dealer who has sold over a hundred items and has a 99.5% satissfaction rating!

I have had good luck purchasing cameral gear from Adorama, new/refurbished and used. They stand by what they sell.

I have purchased used lenses and photo equipment from Adorama and have had very good luck.

Adorama has a very good reputation. I have purchased from them many times and have never had a problem. Although I have never bought used lenses from them, I would trust them as a source of used equipment.

I've bought used from all three of the ABC's and like knowing there's no internal barrel dust on a zoom I'm buying. Never mentioned in e-bay listings. I've also had great experiences with KEH and MPB.

Adorama is a very reputable dealer for both new and used. IMHO and based upon personal experience.

Wanting to buy a used/reconditioned Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM Macro Lens for my Nikon D7200.

Other than on Ebay, I only find this lens used on Adorama. I have purchased used from KEH in the past and was very pleased in the purchase (I believe their used ratings are conservative and what I received was better than expected).

Adorama rating on this available lens (only one available) is “Excellent Minus” which is described as: “Shows signs of moderate wear and/or usage. Unit body may have surface scratches.”

The price is $419 as compared to $569 new.

Any UHH folk here who have purchased used lenses from Adorama and can share their “quality confidence” in their ratings? I am all for saving money, but also want to be happy. I know there is a decent return policy, so that helps if I am not pleased. Just not sure my trust is as high as it is with KEH (based only on never having dealt with them on used equipment).

Also, EBay pricing on this lens model (used) is higher than the Adorama price. Don’t know if that means anything.

Don't forget it comes with a 6 month warranty, which includes a no-questions-asked 30-day returns period. And if you have questions or concerns you are most welcome to contact me directly: Helen@adorama.com

Wow!

How lovely to read through all your wonderful feedback regarding used purchases from Adorama. It makes me very proud to be part of a team which brings so much joy to photographers.

I'm going to copy all your kind comments to the Used Sales Manager to share with his team members, and I know they will all be delighted.
thank you again.

Cancelled my Amazon order for this new lens when I noted that it was a third party seller (Sixth Avenue Electronics Express), which was not listed as an authorized seller of Sigma products and their ratings were less than stellar.

Ordered new from Adorama. Could have just as easily ordered one of their used ones, but decided the longer factory warranty and being new was worth the extra $$.

Adorama customer for about 3 years. Their rating system for used seem honest and pretty much on the money. Returns are easy and never a hassle. I find them honest which is important to me and have absolutely no problem of doing business again. You will find them as a third party reseller on Amazon which makes returns much less hassle

For the difference of $150, I would buy it new or consider this one used:

I have bought lenses from Japan with great success.

I would not recommend buying a used lens from outside the US. If you have an issue with the lens, returning it can be very costly. You need to ship it back insured with tracking, and for international shipping that can be very expensive.

Buy it new, or buy it used from US.

I have bought a couple of things from Adorama. My first contact with them was horrible. They tried to screw me out of some lenses. We agreed on a trade for a used lens I wanted and every time the lens showed on their site they said it wasn’t available. In the long run I had a heart to heart talk with an executive secretary and expressed to him what I intended to do. Within minutes they agreed to upgrade me to a brand new USA Nikon 80-200 f2.8 on my doorstep within 3 days.
