Wonder where the useless United Nations is in all this. Why aren't they helping? I thought they helped provided some humanitarian help when needed?

Yes this is the sad answer. And the leading countries of the world including us screw it up because of politics.

I wil keep this a short as I can. George Bush and Obama let some of the people in our country from Central America which is a nightmare place.
Guatemala, Honduras and Guatemala are the murder capitals of the world. Guatemala the worst. People have been traveling in groups and
coming through Mexico to escape having their children forced to sell drugs their girls raped and murdered if you tried to escape.
This is not the first caravan all groups of people. Trump is using this to try and bail out the midterm elections. The Mexicans take some in
others suffer by the Mexicans. They are not being allowed into Mexico from Guatemala and it is tense at the Mexican border.
We have a law being the great country we are that anyone walking up to our border and asking for asylum from foreign horrors gets a fair hearing.
Then can be turned away or wait for a decision.
George Bush knew that much needed labor in the US came over the border. The dirty work. Like picking crops etc.
Obama was tougher on them and did deport many folks in his years.
Then when you see the pictures of the children and mothers in such great pain like the Syrians we realize this needs some cooperation
between countries and some compassion as well as toughness. Even in Mexico the refugees fall victim to exploitation many of the women are raped
or sold to traffickers. What is going on now is political showboating. About a very serious world problem. Look at Europe.
If the Mexicans let them come up to our border and ask our laws say we have to considerate or just say no.
Now that aside we are like one country with Mexico thousands of workers come to the US daily for work. And Americans work in Mexico Daily.
It would be a real problem if all this commerce just stopped. Countries around the world have taken in thousands of people. Millions of Syrians
have been allowed into the surrounding countries like Jordan, Turkey etc etc have take them in don't know what to do.
The moronic thing about all this if drugs in Mexico and many of these countries have created the cartels. And who buys most of these drugs? Americans!
It is a fact if the legal and illegal immigrant population were here business would close everywhere in the US.
The question is what would we or should we do. We have guns. What a mess that would be. Is that the answer you want.
I wil keep this a short as I can. George Bush and ... (show quote)

Finally, a sensible post.

Finding out what's going on from where their coming from & doing something about it -- Will eventually if done right keep them home

And here we go again being the policemen of the world. What should we do, overthrow their government or just spend billions. Neither will work and yes it doesn't make any difference who or what education they had, they'd still be breaking our law.

Yes of coarse they should use lethal force. It doesn’t matter if nobody wants to admit it but it is an invasion of U.S soil. I have spent half my life in the army in service of my country and any bleeding heart liberal who thinks we should just let anyone who wants to sneak in can just kiss my ass!!!!

Well if you think it’s ok we can bus them up to Canada and you can ask about education. I don’t care what they look like illegal is still illegal!

As a point of information, there is being constructed ($23M+) a "migrant camp" at Guantanamo bay, Cuba with a 19,000+ capacity. A few boat loads would fill it...

The UN defines Asylum cases such that the individual seeking asylum is to apply for asylum in the first country that they come to where they do not have the threat. In the case of Guatemala that would be Mexico! But we all know Asylum in the US is being abused... we have 20+ million illegals in the US and this does not include their children born here while the system is gamed... in addition we allow 1 million legal immigrants annually

How many is enough???
Does anyone believe that this can go on forever?

The Central Americans are invading Mexico. Does everyone understand that. Not the USA. Take a look online of the people and children the photos are depressing.
It would not be right to ask US troops to battle these people. Not even sure it is legal. What do we do shoot them with automatic weapons. Club them.
Gas them. Most of the cartels in these countries including Mexico get their 100% of their weapons from the USA. The poverty, exploitation and corruption of leaders
and we take some blame have created the situation in the America's.

There is a group of about 3,000 Hondurans who have walked through Guatemala and are now mostly stopped at the Mexican border, in large part due to pressure on the Mexican Government by the Trump administration, so that is a start. The Mexicans are getting a lot of pressure to prevent them from getting in to Mexico and making their way north. Mexico knows also that this crowd will continue to be their problem if they get to the border and then get stuck as they request asylum in the US.

How many millions will it take to satisfy your guilt? Remember the 20+ million is all since Regan when amnesty was granted and the Dems refused to fulfill their commitment to secure the amnesty... and the mess just goes on!

How many millions pays the debt you assign to us all?

Actually, I think the number is a little smaller than 40,000, but an issue none the less. It’s not clear to me whether or not the federal government can use US armed forces in this way or not. Would this be considered a military defense of our borders, or a violation of the Posse Comitatus prohibition? I have no idea, but I guess we’ll find out... We use military troops to keep order during rioting and disasters - is this any different?

Ask Poncho Villa.

Hey fake news! It is about 4,000.

As for helping those attempting to enter the US, read the poem on the Statue of Liberty!

As for we the people helping those in need here, just look at the no rich left behind tax cut!

We have had a basically open door policy for those seeking asylum until this administration. It is not against the law to enter the country and seek asylum. This administration controls the house, the senate and presidency but still no legislation has been put forward to control our borders. Why? Because Trump sees this as an issue he can use to rile up folks like you! Want something done, it is not a wall but legislation! We are a democracy not the Soviet Union which builds walls!

I read where there is a caravan of about 40,000 Guatemalans etc. moving towards the US with the intent of crossing the border illegally. Don’t know if it’s true or not but let’s for the moment assume it is. Here’s an open question. How and what do you think we should do to stop them when they get to the border? No smart remarks please just serious answers as illegal crossings are a serious problem. I don’t see how we can continue to help illegals crossing the border while denying many US citizens help that they need.
