A serious question that deserves a serious answer
I read where there is a caravan of about 40,000 Guatemalans etc. moving towards the US with the intent of crossing the border illegally. Don’t know if it’s true or not but let’s for the moment assume it is. Here’s an open question. How and what do you think we should do to stop them when they get to the border? No smart remarks please just serious answers as illegal crossings are a serious problem. I don’t see how we can continue to help i******s crossing the border while denying many US citizens help that they need.

Stop them.
In most other countries they would be stopped.
There is a BIG difference between legal and illegal entry.
/s: Maybe some of
our people should go out and come back in as aliens to be taken care of better........
Our welfare system will take care of them.
It takes ten years to bring in one of my relatives from Europe.

You didn't address or answer the question. How do we stop them?

Haven't you read the news? Trump will employ the US Armed Forces to stop the caravans of i******s. The US Army will use wh**ever force is necessary to deny entrance to the caravans.
And I thought I had signed up with some great people on a photography forum. Boy was I sure fooled.
Do you really think a wall (if it was there
already) would stop them?

Actually, I think the number is a little smaller than 40,000, but an issue none the less. It’s not clear to me whether or not the federal government can use US armed forces in this way or not. Would this be considered a military defense of our borders, or a violation of the Posse Comitatus prohibition? I have no idea, but I guess we’ll find out... We use military troops to keep order during r**ting and disasters - is this any different?

We need to band together as a country and support our Border Patrol Officers and our Military if necessary. Our border patrol does a great job when they are backed by our government, but when we are divided as we are now with hatred and sanctuary cities, we just encourage immigrants to cross our borders illegally. To stop this from happening, we need to unite and stand our ground. People will be separated from their families, including children, and we will feel empathy for them, but we need to stand firm, if they had not tried to enter our country illegally, they would not be separated.

No not all of them but properly built it sure would make stopping them a lot more managable

Curious - Because they don't agree with your visions or philosophy?
(You don't say how you were fooled.)

Well it's true, we did see it in the news last night and the Mexicans had no luck stopping them, pepper spray and all. I would suggest that our National Guard should set up at all possible crossing points with water cannons and bear spray, nothing lethal, but this is an out and out attack on our country and it must be stopped. Another option would be to electrify the fences at the border. President Trump has to send a clear message to put a stop to all of this.

This is a great site for photography with some great people. But it also is a site for other vents as well. The conversations start in a general chat format and are moved into categories as appropriate. Hopefully this does not cause you to lose interest in this forum.
