Placing the sit tones on your answering machine doesn’t work. I tried it for a while.

I bought a Panasonic KX-TGD530 with call blocker on it, works very well. It rings only once if you have blocked that number, then it says call has been blocked, I highly recommend it.

Sometimes I talk for hours to these guys and just when they think they have a fish I say gotcha now take me off your list or I'll get ya again. They never call back

My son loves to talk to them like a little old lady, it's pretty funny for a while...he does the "gotcha" thing to.

I have a V 5000 for about 3 months now and my number of calls have dropped by a estimate of 70%. If I get an unwanted call I press a button and I no longer get any more calls from that number. It does not work for unlisted numbers but those show up on the device and I don’t answer that call. You will need caller identification on your phone service for the device to work. Overall, I would give the V5000 a B+ and that it is worth the money I spent.

I’ve been using a V5000 for a couple of years and really like it. It will block calls from an entire area code if you wish or an entire single exchange. Will also block “out of area” calls and I also think “unknown” and blocked number calls. Very easy to use and well worth the price.

We never answer phone calls unless it's a known number with Caller ID! If the caller wants us there is a recorder for them to put on a message.

That's what we do too. My watch is synced to my phone and displays the number.
Haven't had a land line in over 10 years, just smart phones.

will

The phone companies should provide free of charge the service to block these calls. Our government should also pass a law where unsolicited calls would cost the caller a huge fine. Unfortunately this will never happen.

I believe the companies that offer blocking devices are also creating ways to bypass them. This is no different than anti-virus software, they constantly need upgrades because the have, constantly have new viruses created.

I have used it for about nine months, this is not a product I would recommend . It fails to block 95 % of robocalls and you can hit that big red Block Now button to no avail. To date it has blocked 73 calls in 9 months. Not worth the money , Oh I get 5 to 7 robocalls a day.

I don’t expect it to block ALL calls because these days there are too many new spoofs of phone numbers to expect the blocker to stop them. But it is very easy to add such numbers to the block list.

In my view, there is no SURE WAY to eliminate all calls. If there were, I would be first in line with wallet ready to buy.

I use Nomorobo, a service which is free for landlines and $1.99 a month for cell phones. It works very well, and very few calls get past it. The phone only rings once, and then the call is intercepted, so you know how many calls it's stopping.

Thank you. I just signed up for the free "land line" service. I have been getting a lot of robocalls on my land line recently. If this works I may pay to also have it on my iPhone. I don't get a lot of calls on my iPhone because I keep it turned off.

In the past I would play with them and keep them on hold while I looked for my credit card. Now it seems as soon I express my willingness and enthusiasm for their product, they hang up on me?!

It is not so much the phone companies fault. They are bound by Federal Laws written when Bell Telephone company monopolized the industry. Then they passed the toothless 'do not call' legislation. Our phone set allows us to assign ring tones to callers we put on our contact list. No ring tone, caller go to answering machine. We can program up to 100 numbers to block, which is not enough.

The phone companies are fully aware of how these calls can be stopped and do nothing. It will be another product to sell to us. For many years they have been complicit in selling us. Many years.

I have Comcast for internet, TV and phone. They support and promote free software called nomorobo.
It safe, free and effective. Not all service providers support it yet.
