I find the B&W to be most appealing because the detail in the water falling is better seen in the B&W.

Retired CPO, nailed it. Color.
I am so tired of "artsy " B&W.
There are only a few photographers in the world, that can actually make B&W work.
I am not trying to bash you, but, you are not one of them. Neither am I.
Stay with color.

No worries, it's just your opinion 👍

I normally go with color when I see these comparisons as it's my normal preference, but you surprised me with your shots. I distinctly like the monochrome version better. It makes be want to explore B&W more...

Color or BW:

Which mode, in-and-of-itself, makes a visual
statement merely by the decision to work in
that tonal mode ? And, symmetrically, which
mode is the decision-free default ? That is the
Huuuuuge Question.

There is definitely a generational divide, even
tho the dividing line itself is kinda fuzzy, about
whether Color or BW is the default and therefor
choosing the the "other" makes a "statement".

Way behind the fuzzy divide is the "BW Default"
school. Photos were NORMALLY in BW, and you
needed a REASON to shoot color. IOW if subject
matter didn't especially call for color, BW is the
automatically globally normal medium. BW was
NOT a choice. Color WAS a choice.

On the current side of the fuzzy line, the Color or
BW "choice" goes vice-versa of the old way. Now,
color in and of itself says nothing. BW OTOH says
"There's some special reason that this image is in
BW, so REALLY look at it and find out why". Again,
back on the earlier side of the fuzzy divide it was
"There's some special reason that this image is in
COLOR, and if it's not in-you-face obvious to you,
then you must be blind".

Until a whole bunch of us die off, there will be the
problem of "Why did you CHOOSE to work in color,
and what are you saying by using a special tonal
mode ?". Before the bunch of us die off, acoarst
the newer vice-versa version will keep colliding
with the older version.

I prefer the B&W, but just a fun thought...what if you applied a mask and "painted" back in some of the green lichens around the falls?

For me I like the B&W more than the color. The sky does not do anything for both photos so I would crop much of it out if you don't know how to PP it.

Personally, I always prefer black and white, unless the colors are really, really needed.

They are both all right armandoluiz.
I usually prefer color and in your case, I would put a polarizing filter on - to show some cloud definition - even on a cloudy day.I
If there is a chance for re-composing, making two or three steps to your right, will expose the green vegetation more - justifying thus the color take.
The contrast between the bare rock and a living greens would bring life into your image.
That is, if you want that?

armandoluiz: for me, it is definitely #2 Colored. I just find it more realistic and just the color is better on this one...
