I am sorry to say i also like the light one, i think it puts more emphasis on the flower as the dark one blends in with the background too much But as usual it is personal choice. Great shot tho
You're right about it being a personal choice. That's what makes photography fun. :D :D
I always shoot to please myself and not others unless they are paying me. I tell my students this, too.
Thanks for the kind words.

I like the dark one...but your wife is right...even if she's wrong..she's right!!

The dark is more contrasted but heavy. The light has a bit of soft mystery - a woman's gentle touch. She wins
The colours work well to enhance each other in both shots. Your turn next time!

hi, ask yourself why you take photographs, and you will find the answer, regards, Alf.
Both are exceptional. Why not compromise and put the lighter in the ladies room and the darker in the gents? I agree with you, the contrast gives it more life, but it is a little heavy. Can you back off the intensity of the background a bit?
God was right again they are both a delight.
I like the darker one and am quite surprised most votes are for the lighter one.

Ditto - but they are both wonderful. Something about the lighter one draws me away from the flower. I would tweak the darker on just a teeny weeny bit if I had to, big as is, it is compelling. D
