Can't help feeling like I'm cheating...
I just found out my cell phone will capture RAW file data.....it's not my Canon 6D but, I will be using it more........

When I use the phone to take pictures I feel that well it's a pain to use but I don't have anything else better right now.

And remember, if God wanted us to exercise, he wouldn't have invented the TV remote.
And (I hate to break it to him)....but TV's don't have knobs anymore. <big grin>

Today’s cell phone is little more than yesterday’s Instamatic and they weren’t any good either!!! LoL

You do not know of what you talk about nor do you walk the walk.
I have no problem with cell phone cameras as they are simply another variation of a camera.
Quite good in some instances!
Good cell phone cameras can probably best some of the equipment use by professions in the 30s, 40s and 50s. They're better than the pushed Tri-X I shot as a photo journalist i college, and they are in color. Don't fret.
"How many times have you been somewhere or doing something and had the sudden thought "Damn, I wish I had my camera" without ever thinking about that device in your shirt pocket".
To answer your question, hardly ever. I usually have a camera with me. However, I also don't think of my camera first when I need to call someone. In fact, the only reason I have a phone is that I need it to run an exposure/processing program which I find invaluable. Though I can do this "long hand", the phone makes it much quicker.
Additionally, I'd love to see those oooohhh and aaaahhhh photos posted, printed at 24x36 or 32x40 and see who many oooohhhs and aaahhhs they garner.

OK it's not a Nikon D 5 with a 180-400mm NIKKOR f/4E TC1.4 FL ED VR Lens but within the limitations of its design it's everything you need. I use my Galaxy S-7 to capture things I would never get otherwise. Changing cloud formations and my SLR is locked in the trunk of my car 200 yards away, a butterfly that just happens to stop by while I'm pulling weeds, other daily events you just didn't have a camera for. In reasonable sized enlargements I don't think anyone can tell if I was using my cell phone or my SLR. The only limitation I see in a cell phone camera is that it is not as versatile as an SLR. Don't feel like cheating, feel like you are using the best available camera to capture an image you will never another opportunity for.

They have there place even though it does not meet your expectations. I have friend that makes a very good living doing classes, trips, dedicated to the Iphone and it's aps.

I have an older Galaxy S4, and it can take very good pictures, but I'm not comfortable using it. Real cameras (DSLRs) are big and heavy.
I left my Nikon home when I went to the Grand Canyon 2 years ago.
My Note 5 took fabulous shots.

That happened to me Halloween evening 2016 after returning from a weeks vacation on the OBX of N.C. A tractor trailers rear tandem wheels ran over the front fender and a portion of the hood of my Grand Marquis. I wish that I had remembered my Galaxy 6 was in my shirt pocket so I could have taken a picture of both vehicles entangled together. I wasn't injured, and the trucker paid for the repairs, but it would have made an interesting picture. The things that we tend to overlook, or forget.

Smartphones are good cameras. I have plenty of phone photos which just would not have been taken with a "real" camera. Quality is good too. If you don't want to believe me, fine.
My old instamatic couldn't take a quick video and upload it to the internet instantly. I wouldn't be caught out in public without my phone on hand. Great tool. But I wouldn't have a toolbox with only 1 tool in it either.
