Air Force 1965-1967. United States and military service very dear to me. I dont understand the insult of kneeling during the anthem. To me their grievances should have other ways to address. I wonder what % of the kneelers or supporters of that demonstration are Veterans. My guess less then 10% but maybe I am wrong. Thanks to all who served. Freedom including the right to "kneel" is not free. Not sure they understand that.

We all pay a price. It is called "Vigilance".

We do not support the rights of "Symbols". We support, should support, the rights of the People.

Go run your "Patriotism" where people do not appreciate nor understand Freedom and Liberty.

I put in my time so "those" people can "kneel", or whatever other way to state their grievances. The national Anthem should not be trivialized with its use in any paid sport. If the Anthem is played, then any and all have the right to present their plight.

It is even sadder that you do not understand what "Freedom" actually means, as seen by your statement. Free, as a right, is not the same thing as the "free" we see in commercial sales ads.

To those who know the difference, Thanks. We need to protect it in spite of those who are willing to give it away.

Thank you for the post. Spent 12 months in Vietnam with the Marines doing 12 combat operations in 1968 all along the DMZ from the Laotian border, Khe Sanh, to the coastline. My little unit had almost 50% casualties during those 12 months and hardly a day goes by without me remembering those friends. Thanks again.

My wife and I visited Eagles Nest, N.M. last weekend, and they have a Vietnam Memorial there created by a man whose son died in country in an ambush. This was the first memorial created in the U.S. honoring those vets from all the Services. I took two photos of a UH-1 Huey they have on display, and a photo of a plaque on a wall. I wanted to post these in honor of all of our Vietnam vets on here. I served from 1969 to 1971 but never went over. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for answering the call and keeping us free. It is noted and deeply appreciated.

USAF 1963-1967. 1965 Mactan, PI. & Okinawa, support of Vietnam, C-130E tail # 877. 1966, CCK Crew chief, C-130 assault airlift aircraft # 877. "In country" most of those two years. Transported way too many body bags. Rigged for casualties way to many times. VA shrink asked me "how often do you think of Vietnam"? Answer, "every day". If you weren't there you don't know.

My brother Keith serviced as a Special Forces Green Bretes. His last mission was to rescue American POW's held in a death camp in North Viet Nam. Of the 250 rescued POW's only 2 were killed. Keith and a fellow solider he was carrying on his back who was hurt and could not walk. They were only 100 feet from the rest of American forces when Keith was shot.
The painful thing of this ordeal is his body is still over in North Vietnam along with all of his belongings. All we received was a flag. No name on the wall, nothing to show that he was in service everything buried.

Vietnam, 1963. I was lucky to get there early and get out before the serious fighting started. I admire those who came after me.
