I thank you for the post.
Vietnam era vet myself.
I was a Corporal (E4) US Marines. I was in a MATCU unit at the air wing in Beaufort, S.C.
I lost a few people I knew back in high school due to the war. My father was a Marine with 2 Purple Hearts from WWII.
Again thanks for the post.

27 years in the Army. RVN from 1968 to 1970. Armor all the way.
Would I do it again, you bet.
But, I lost too many friends from high school. Too many paid the price for a dream of freedom.

On the one hand glad I didn't get there, on the other hand not having been feel almost like a fraud saying I'm a veteran.
You served, you are a veteran.

My wife and I visited Eagles Nest, N.M. last weekend, and they have a Vietnam Memorial there created by a man whose son died in country in an ambush. This was the first memorial created in the U.S. honoring those vets from all the Services. I took two photos of a UH-1 Huey they have on display, and a photo of a plaque on a wall. I wanted to post these in honor of all of our Vietnam vets on here. I served from 1969 to 1971 but never went over. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for answering the call and keeping us free. It is noted and deeply appreciated.

Thanks for the photos.
Anyone who was in the service during that time is a Vietnam Veteran, regardless of what the dimwits in DC prattled. Those who ended up in Vietnam were just the proverbial tip of the military family working together. Our "boots" were, and are, not alone in the battles. There were many Ready-Strike units that were ready to move on an hour's notice to back up those who were in Vietnam. They, too, have their battle traumas.
As for your service, you have participated just as much as those who did end up in the "war zone". By the way, most, like you, went because it was their "job".
The "War in Viet Nam" was never declared by the US Congress. It was a "Police Action" under the aegis of the UN.
To all who served and serve for the right reason, Thank You.
Marines ‘69-‘72...had WesPac orders 3 times, all changed for a variety of reasons. Wound up with the 6th Fleet in the Med and NATO forces. During that time I served with many whose lives were changed forever by their tours in Nam and I have the deepest admiration and respect for members of all branches who served.
Thank you for your posting. AF vet 69-73. Loadmaster on C-141a . Flew in and out of SEA a few times and brought some if our buddies home for the last time.
Thank you for posting.....not enough being done to honor those who went to WestPac, God bless you all.
US Navy - 1966 - 1972.
Great pics. I came along a bit later than most of the posts thst have been shared. Served from '74 thru '78, but most of that time was in Hanau Germany. God bless all our Viet Nam vets...
Air Force 1965-1967. United States and military service very dear to me. I dont understand the insult of kneeling during the anthem. To me their grievances should have other ways to address. I wonder what % of the kneelers or supporters of that demonstration are Veterans. My guess less then 10% but maybe I am wrong. Thanks to all who served. Freedom including the right to "kneel" is not free. Not sure they understand that.

Thank you for the post. Spent 12 months in Vietnam with the Marines doing 12 combat operations in 1968 all along the DMZ from the Laotian border, Khe Sanh, to the coastline. My little unit had almost 50% casualties during those 12 months and hardly a day goes by without me remembering those friends. Thanks again.
To all of you who served there, my heartfelt thanks. It was a difficult war.
