Just a word of warning regarding a deceptive business practice on the part of B & H. Today (Friday before Noon), I ordered an item.. a large font orange banner on the page declared "Free Next Day Shipping To (my location). When I checked out I learned that the free delivery was to be Monday, rather than tomorrow, Saturday. Several discussions with various unhelpful individuals at B&H resulted in no change to the delivery date. A condescending explanation was offered that next day delivery is actually next business day delivery (a big difference on a Friday order).
So, I hope listserve members recall this deceptive practice the next time someone sings the praises of B&H, and especially because when a certain online competitor that is frequently bashed on UHH offers free next day delivery for any particular item, Saturday delivery IS a part of their service.

That's not deceptive all you have to do is read their site right where it says free shipping. If they were being deceptive they'd tell you that it's next day without exceptions...and then not follow through.
There is a difference between deception and " you didn't read their details"
If I recall correctly, B&H is a Jewish business and the observe the weekend as the Sabbath, so they are closed and nothing ships on the weekend.
Not at all unusual that B&H is defended on this site and the original writer is bashed. This was completely expected when I posted my original note.

And, this is on the fine print on the T&C page. You cannot even add anything to a shopping cart between friday east coast time sunset and Saturday
Actually. I always assume they mean next regular business day. That has been the standard all of my life. So an order placed on Friday would have a next day delivery of Monday. This avoids having items arrive at a business address on a day that the business is not open.

That's always been my assumption, as well.

I think B&H is well thought of because of their long history of fine business practices and excellent service. I don't think anyone's bashed the OP here.
UPS Next Day Air would deliver the package next business day so if you ship it Friday you will get it Monday. That deceptive too?

If I made the logical error you did in calling them deceptive I'd expect it to be pointed out too.

You mean it was expected when you started bashing B&H?
where I live UPS does not deliver on Saturday. I guess that B&H's fault.

Just a word of warning regarding a deceptive busin... (
show quote)
To which online competitor to B&H, which you indicate is frequently bashed, are you referring?

I think he was referring generically rather than specifically.
Lest anyone feel having to wait the weekend for next day shipping is an inconvenience, try living in Alaska where "next day" could mean up to a week at times. So when an online business states "next day delivery," I don't really expect it to arrive the next day. And I just deal with it.
