Go back and read the survey request again. He very clearly says (to those who can read and comprehend) that it is a battery survey. The response you are referring to listed exactly what the survey asked for. Camera brand, battery brand and positive or negative experience.

I have no interest in debating this with you. If the context is battery brands, then Canon is a battery brand, as is Nikon or any other.

We are discussing battery brands, which includes OEM brands. My comments have been related to battery experiences, do please go back and read the thread. It shouldn't be too hard to comprehend.

The comment I sought clarification on was unclear. Perhaps that eluded you.

Can we return to batteries please?

Wasabi, and Watson. Never had an issue, been using them in various Nikon bodies since waaaay back.

D-70, D-70s, D-200, D-7000, D-7100, D-500, never had an issue, even though I read that D-500s supposedly don't allow aftermarket batteries. I did have a few issues with my Nikon brand grip on the D-200 not showing battery level, but they still worked.

I'm awake, the response was unclear in differentiating between Canon brand batteries, Watson brand batteries, or whether the reaction to both was negative.

Perhaps you need a little more coffee, although there may be a limit to how much that could help!

His response was:
Camera brand (Canon); Battery brand (Watson); battery experience (negative).

The OP asked for camera; battery; experience.

Fujifilm XT-1, X Pro-1: Wasabi. Mixed results, two of four units swelled and became unusable within a year

For your benefit here is the original survey request that was posted.

As a service to UHH members, I would like to collect responses from UHH members on their experience with non OEM batteries. I will collect the data and publish the results at the end of this thread in a day or so. Please respond with only these data: Brand of camera; brand of battery and experience - positive or negative. This might help members decide on what approach they should try. Please do not respond if you have only used OEM batteries for your camers(s). Thank you.

He clearly states he is seeking experience with non OEM batteries. He further asks respondents to list brand of camera; brand of battery and experience - positive or negative which is what the responder as well as I and many others did. Perhaps you need to go back to bed, cuddle up next to Mama and get some much needed sleep.

So if the battery brand is Canon, for a Canon camera, then you would say: "Canon, Canon, negative."

That would not accurately reflect my experience, but could be interpreted that way in an overly simplistic manner. I was merely seeking clarification of a potentially confusing response.

Here are a few others to consider:

Sony, Nikon, negative.

Nikon, Pentax, negative.

Fuji, Tampax, negative.

Are any of them clear or informative?

I have Wasabi batteries that I purchased for a Sony RX 100. I get far fewer shots from them than factory originals. I have found they also discharge in storage far more quickly than factory batteries. They are handy for a backup, but not as a replacement.

A Canon battery is not a non-OEM battery. A Canon battery is an OEM battery. All of those responses are exactly what the survey requester asked for. He did not request experience with OEM batteries. He asked for experience with non OEM batteries.

OK, I simply asked for clarification. You have turned this to a different kind of conversation. One that has become a personal attack, and entirely unnecessary.

It is however quite revealing, as is habitual in many of your posts.

Have fun, and remember that it was you that took the thread off topic. I merely sought clarification.

Do not further confuse and add disinformation to the OP's survey, here is a valid and accurate, yet completely misleading response:

"Canon, Canon, negative"

The survey premise is both naive and flawed. Any results would have no validity.

Yes, if you can get a Nikon battery in a Sony; a Pentax battery in a Nikon; and I'd keep your full-time job for the humor.

Positive experience with Nikon B700 and Vivitar aftermarket batteries. See little to no difference between Vivitar and Nikon with this camera.
