I used both a Canon and a 3rd party battery in my 5d MK II. Both worked equally well.

Now with my Oly OMD EM1 MK II I have decided to stick with Olympus batteries exclusively.

Pentax; Watson; Positive

I probably get 90-95% of the performance of my OEM battery.

I’m currently using:
Nikon EN-EL15, 1900mAh, 14Wh 1pc
RAVPower RP-PB057, 7.0V, 2100mAh, 14.7Wh 2pcs

These all work great.... I don’t see any differences

I received a Watson battery as a spare when I purchased my Nikon D7100. It doesn’t hold a charge very long, drains quickly when not in use, and the number of pictures taken is far less than my Nikon batteries. I purchased two additional Nikon batteries as spares and use them frequently with positive results. The Nikon batteries hold a charge for a long time, do not drain while in the bag, and the number of pictures I can take is much higher. Perhaps the Watson battery I received was defective. Others have had far better success that I have.

I regret I cannot give you information on a generic battery I used with my Olympus EPL-1. I worked very nicely but died long before OEM battery.
I know some generic brands are better than others.

OK, I simply asked for clarification. You have turned this to a different kind of conversation. One that has become a personal attack, and entirely unnecessary.

It is however quite revealing, as is habitual in many of your posts.

Have fun, and remember that it was you that took the thread off topic. I merely sought clarification.

Do not further confuse and add disinformation to the OP's survey, here is a valid and accurate, yet completely misleading response:

"Canon, Canon, negative"

The survey premise is both naive and flawed. Any results would have no validity.
OK, I simply asked for clarification. You have tur... (show quote)

You still have not grasped the fact that a Canon battery is not a non-OEM battery. You have my sympathy.

Canon; Vivatar; not used often, only for backup; no problems to date ...

I will collect the data and publish the results at the end of this thread in a day or so. Please respond with only these data: Brand of camera; brand of battery and experience - positive or negative. This might help members decide on what approach they should try. Please do not respond if you have only used OEM batteries for your camers(s). Thank you.

Surveys such as this are worthless. Too many unknowns.

Sony a6000. Wasabi batteries. Less capacity than OEM batteries but half the cost. I carry several. Never use them when shooting video or time lapse.

EXpro 2150 mAh, replacement for Nikon EN-EL23. Just as good as the Nikon battery. Use it in Nikon P900.
No name bought on Ebay, label white and blue, Fits SONY NP-FW50. 1500 mAh. Somewhat less capacity than original Sony (ca. 70-80% of the original). Use it in Sony A7r. Works well.
Hahnel HL-EL20 880 mAh for Nikon. Use it in Nikon 1J2. Almost as good as the original Nikon battery. (ca. 95% of the original battery capacity)

All those bought dirt cheap (less than $10 pr. pcs) on Ebay 3-4 years ago.

Watson brand batteries have been used in both Nikon and Canon cameras with no problems. I see no difference between the two other than price.

i have a couple of Sony cameras my a99ii and WAsabi batteries don't hold enough of a charge and I have to change them more often then the sony batteries. I also have Wasabi batteries for my sony rx100 and these work great (i had these first and that's what prompted me to get the bigger ones for the a99)...
