Check out the chart - very comprehensive - wish Adobe would have done the same thing. Thanks!

The new lightroom cc seems terrible compared with Lightroom 5 let alone the newer versions of lightroom. I can't speak for earlier versions of lightroom as I haven't used them.

It honestly doesn't deserve the name it's a much inferior product compared with the real deal.

Mike,

You don't need the cloud to take your images and work with them on the road. I have the CC Lightroom and Photoshop installed on my MacBook Pro and my images are all on a portable drive I can carry where I want. You can also look into Lightroom Smart Previews and learn what you can do with them too. I don't use them myself, but I am sure some people do.

Best,
Todd Ferguson

Interesting account. I feel I do want the cloud because we travel quite a bit. I can take my laptop and continue editing, etc. However, let the buyer beware! Thanks for the advice.

Here is a comparison chart and a "which should I use chart" from The Lightroom Queen:

This chart is so out-of-date it is pretty much totally useless!!

Ok then, it is simply WRONG!

I'm running Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC Release 2015.10.1 Camera Raw 9.10.1 and it is far more comprehensive than my old Lightroom 6.

LR 6 is the stand alone, it was not part of the discussion, plus we all know Adobe short changed it on the features.

The versions under discussion are the NEW Lightroom CC (a web cloud based version just released) and Lightroom Classic (formerly Lightroom CC - now listed in "about" as ver 7.0.1) and the current Camera Raw is 10.0

Those were the versions under discussion and the article I posted is dated Oct 19, a whole 11 days old.

Not that I can find. Frankly as a Lightroom since forever user, I find the CC interface annoying. This is so simple in Lightroom Classic, do your edits on one image then select the eitire range of images. Click on Sync Settings, click on Check All and then Synchronize.

Why do you want to do this in Lightroom CC if you have Classic?

I had neither. Signed up for Lightroom CC thinking it would do the job. It didn't so I downloaded LR Classic (comes with the package along with PS). Will be using Classic from now on.

By the way it seems we have "broken" UHH. Got to 10 pages (with 6800 looks) and then it broke off the last 2-3 pages to let us continue. I hope I can find a way go to back to the first 8 pages or so cause there was some valuable information there.

I take pictures of birds: sometimes for identification purposes, sometimes to create beautiful pictures. When taking picts I will take 10-15 (or more ) of the same bird in the center of the view. I have then uploaded the pics into mac Photos, cropped them down to about the same size one-by-one (you can apply light/color edits one-by one using Copy/Paste).

So I asked a few people if Lightroom would allow me to batch edit - crop and adjust - and have it applied to the rest of them in the series. They said Lightroom could do that. So I signed up for the new Lightroom CC and tried it - and couldn't find a way. Adobe has about 6 tutorials for Lightroom CC and none of them cover this. You can do this on the new Lightroom Classic CC, so I downloaded that. So my question - is there a way to batch edit in the new Lightroom CC? If not, does that mean I have to use (the more complicated) Lightroom Classic and then synch back to Lightroom CC? Along those same lines can you recommend any series of Lightroom tutorials (I find Adobe's are more like product promotions than an instructional tool). Thanks.
I take pictures of birds: sometimes for identifica... (show quote)

In light room after you click on sync there is a little tiny switch on the left of the word sync that changes it to auto sync and after you highlight all the pictures that you want to batch process you hit auto sync and they all change at once

You can do it in ON1 Photo Raw 2018 and they have a 30 day trial. I love it!

Thanks. If I don't like LR I'll check out ON1.
