Once again you are incorrect! O.J. Simpson was mentioned on SUNDAY MORNING 9:00am this morning. Want more ? You still seem to pass judgement, SHAME ON YOU !!! Who do you think you are GOD ....! People here at UHH should read your RED WORDS in their dictionary!

UHH would drop you like a JOKE! You are make believe - AP

Wrong, You wrote the OP like a newspaper might - an attention-catching headline leading to a story with only a tangential connection to the headline. The story belongs in this section, but the headline belongs in the Chit-Chat section. Headline and story need to be in the same section - you have to expect pushback.

The new world has different rules, I'm from the old world which is the same to me. My photo tells me, you do not understand what your seeing. Never mind how to make the capture if you were next to me! I do understand what's going on, and, I'll see it before you! Know why, I have more experience than you! AP

I would try a liberal application of Preparation H if I were you. It might help relieve a number of the symptoms that are causing you some discomfort. There is no need to be so nasty to people.

I do not recall criticizing your photograph, in fact acknowledged it as a great photograph, but just the way you framed the posting of it on the forum. You appeared to be wanting praise, which may have come your way had you chosen a different approach, but now you appear to merely be wanting recognition for past glory. By your own description you got lucky with your own shot, regardless of how much skill you needed to be lucky, but appear to be merely grandstanding on the basis of old work. That is no basis to be rude to others.

As mentioned in the past I was a freelance SPORTS photographer 15 years: 1969-84. This was my first PRO game a BIG one at that! The Buffalo Bills vs The New England Patriots Sunday November 6, 1976 - HOW OLD WERE YOU! Kneeling on the field with my Nikon FTN mono-pod mounted older Nikkor 300mm f4.5 with Kodak TRI-X ASA 400 b&w film.

Next to me on my left was Neil Lifer with his Nikon and mono-pod mounted Nikkor EDIF 400 f3.5 lens (a new not on the market yet lens) next to him was Walter Iooss with his mono-pod mounted Nikkor EDIF 600mm f5.6 lens. Both Neil Lifer and Walter Iooss are staff photographers for SPORTS Illustrated Magazine!

The game started and the crowed roared! After 9 minutes in the game O.J. and a Patriot player were ejected from the game for fighting. The fans BOOED for at least 2 minutes maybe longer!

But, it gets better! Back then you had now way of knowing what you made on your exposed film until it was developed. As you all can see I did make a classic photo, made by me: Anthony P Gawrys not Neil Lifer or Walter Iooss Jr. from SPORTS Ill. HOWS THAT! AP
As mentioned in the past I was a freelance SPORTS ... (show quote)

I should of said earlier, that was one heck of a good photo!! And thanks for letting us see it!! Especially due to using a film camera with manual focusing!! You're really a great photographer!

I don't think there's ever been a better runner than OJ.

Which camera were you using back then? And what lens were you using?

And thanks again for the Pic!

If you truly believe what you say you do, do us all a favor and step away from the keyboard. Stick to your camera and stop writing! You suck at it! Clear enough this time? Thanks for pointing out to all of us you took a great photo. Don’t break your arm patting yourself on the back.

You seem to use the wrong words when you speak, steve_stoneblossom. I see you do not know what I am talking about in sports photography nor do you understand what a photo has to say. You Steve are behind, not me! Post a photo, I'll know what to say. AP

Why is it when you post on someone else's thread, you feel the need to nitpick, judge and often give the illusion that you are the moderator on this forum? Just a word of advice....get over yourself.

Well I disagree there: Jim Brown was the best.

Where is the nitpicking?

I question the title and timing of it. Apparently I am far from being the only one.

"Despite the image" means I have no beef with it, far from it as it is a redeeming feature.

I ask a simple question related to the topic. That the answer, fast and furious, simply demonstrates that I am correct to question the title and timing. The rant that follows on the illustration is the op doing, not mine.

Come to think of it, this is in the wrong place anyway as any image must be placed either in of of the admin sections or in a private area where no one cares IF within the bounds of that section.

This belongs at best in the gallery, at worse in the attic.

You are not the moderator of this forum no matter what delusions you have about yourself, maybe you should just mind your own business and let the real modulator determine where this thread should be posted...NOT you. This was your response which is nothing new with you, "Despite the image the title itself raises anger and question: "Does this belong in the attic?" Don't pretend this is your first time doing this, we all know you are a control freak and it drives you nuts not to correct others. Out of respect for the OP, I will no longer address you on this thread.

I almost always question topics that are misplaced. Been doing it for years and will keep doing it.

You know that perfectly well because we have been going at it for years now.

Jim Brown was a fullback. O.J. was a Running back.

I don't have a problem placing Jim brown ahead of OJ as a player though!~!

You're not much of a writer steve_stoneblossom, you say all the wrong things! It tells me you do not know what a photograph has to say. When you're on assignment, all photographers on the field is your competition. Who made the best shot! Try to understand, news papers the wire service AP & UPI, Magazines to Magazines all compete with each other. Nothing wrong with what I said, you just didn't get it.

When I talked my O.J. photo being a classic shot, you were told why. You did not even pay attention to what was said. Thousands of fans came to Foxboro to see in person O.J. Simpson play and carry in person the football. As mentioned, he played only 9 minutes in the game and was thrown out for fighting. The bottom line is, I did make a keeper photo under heavy competition.

In film as you know, there are only 36 exposures to work with. Not like digital, tons of exposures and auto everything! Try shooting film, you just may give up on photography all together, especially when you have to focus your lens.

There are only three things in the making of a photograph. Your eye, your brain, your shutter finger, that's it! The camera is up to your eye, you see the photo through the view finder, your brain tells you "snap" the shutter stupid! If you wait just one split second your keeper photo is gone forever. Cannot be brought back.

When O.J. went to court I sent this 8x10 b&w to many magazines. When his trial was over "People Magazine" called and told me they can't run the photo. If O.J. was proven guilty this photo would have been published WORLD WIDE!

Maybe you can show UHH members your classic film photos and outstanding stories. Did you ever hear of Bob Jackson ? He made the classic photo of Jack Rube shooting Lee Harvey Oswal to death in the police tunnel Dallas, TX November 22, 1963. There was competition, only one other photographer allowed in the tunnel with Bob. The first photographer saw Jack Ruby pull a gun and snapped his shutter. Bob waited for the gun to fire and snapped his shutter making a classic Pulitzer Prize Photo for the Dallas Times Herald.

Try to understand what you're looking at before you write the wrong things to say. Bob Jackson tells everybody his classic photo stories. Doesn't bother him and others at all, but, I'm sure it would bother you! CIAO, AP
