You're not much of a writer steve_stoneblossom, you say all the wrong things! It tells me you do not know what a photograph has to say. When you're on assignment, all photographers on the field is your competition. Who made the best shot! Try to understand, news papers the wire service AP & UPI, Magazines to Magazines all compete with each other. Nothing wrong with what I said, you just didn't get it.

When I talked my O.J. photo being a classic shot, you were told why. You did not even pay attention to what was said. Thousands of fans came to Foxboro to see in person O.J. Simpson play and carry in person the football. As mentioned, he played only 9 minutes in the game and was thrown out for fighting. The bottom line is, I did make a keeper photo under heavy competition.

In film as you know, there are only 36 exposures to work with. Not like digital, tons of exposures and auto everything! Try shooting film, you just may give up on photography all together, especially when you have to focus your lens.

There are only three things in the making of a photograph. Your eye, your brain, your shutter finger, that's it! The camera is up to your eye, you see the photo through the view finder, your brain tells you "snap" the shutter stupid! If you wait just one split second your keeper photo is gone forever. Cannot be brought back.

When O.J. went to court I sent this 8x10 b&w to many magazines. When his trial was over "People Magazine" called and told me they can't run the photo. If O.J. was proven guilty this photo would have been published WORLD WIDE!

Maybe you can show UHH members your classic film photos and outstanding stories. Did you ever hear of Bob Jackson ? He made the classic photo of Jack Rube shooting Lee Harvey Oswal to death in the police tunnel Dallas, TX November 22, 1963. There was competition, only one other photographer allowed in the tunnel with Bob. The first photographer saw Jack Ruby pull a gun and snapped his shutter. Bob waited for the gun to fire and snapped his shutter making a classic Pulitzer Prize Photo for the Dallas Times Herald.

Try to understand what you're looking at before you write the wrong things to say. Bob Jackson tells everybody his classic photo stories. Doesn't bother him and others at all, but, I'm sure it would bother you! CIAO, AP
