Sorry for your loss. I feel your pain as I went through the same scenario 7 years ago with my rottie. I swore I'd never go through it again, but I caved three years ago and got two rottie pups because I couldn't decide which to take and the breeder gave me a deal on both(from the same litter). They are such wonderful and loyal dogs.

Sincere condolences! My heart goes out to you. My Mackie passed 3 years ago and I think of him daily. His ashes are always close by wherever I am. RIP Steve. I hope you and Mackie are frolicking to your hearts content.

My deepest sympathies. Will Rogers said. "If dogs don't go to heaven, I want to go where they are!" My thoughts exactly.

My Rottweiler Steve, who has been fighting cancer for the past year, suddenly crashed over the weekend and I had to make the very difficult decision to have him euthanized. We indeed fought the good fight but despite everything the Veterinary Oncologist did the cancer won the battle. Memory is still pretty raw and I still hurt but I wanted to thank the oncologist, the surgeons and my regular vets for the care they gave him in his final months. To do that I used a Photographer's Edge card and put this photo in it. It's one of my favorite pictures of the big lug nut, taken about 6 months before I discovered the cancer and we started down that path.

As always I'd like any C&C that you might have. The original photo, taken in the middle of my pasture in the late afternoon sunlight, was a bit over-exposed so in Smart Photo Editor I adjusted exposure, lights and darks, lightened up the left side of his face as shown so his right eye could be seen and applied a gentle vignette which seemed to me to be appropriate given the circumstances.

Rest In Peace Steve ... I miss you a lot.
My Rottweiler Steve, who has been fighting cancer ... (show quote)

I lost my Rottie, Sam, six and a half years ago. I still think of him almost every day.

Grief is the price we pay for love. Still, and always worth it.

Good luck.

Sorry for your loss. I've had three previous "mutts" and their deaths still haunt me. I miss everyone of them. Right now I have two recognizable "breed" dogs, an American Foxhound and a probable Artois Hound. I fear their eventual deaths will take me too, I love them so much.

I had a cousin who used to breed and show Rotts! She unfortunately died from cancer when way too young. You may have to grieve, but do get another dog. So many need homes and love.

So sorry for your loss. Most of us have experienced a loss similar, so know how you feel. That is a great picture of "the Lug" as you call him. :-) Cheers.

Sorry for your loss. Our Sammy passed 2 years ago and we still look for him when we get home. Pets grab your heart and you never forget them. Time does take the hurt away.

Sorry to hear of your loss, he is a great looking dog. I had to do the same thing a number of years so I truly feel your pain. But rest assured, when you get up there he will be waiting at the gate with that grin on his face.
