I have heard that Nikon lenses can be used on any of the Nikon cameras, but I'd like your opinions. I have the opportunity to buy a Nikon F6 film camera, and so I was wondering if the lenses I now use on my Nikon D7100 will also work on the F6.Thanks for your help.

If they are FX lenses they should fine. DX lenses are not designed to cover the full frame sensor so they will vignette. As suggested by others, check their web site; there may be some FX lenses that do not work, but I doubt it.

The 'full frame sensor' on the F6 is known, more commonly, as 'film'. Not all of the lenses designed for full frame format will work with the F6, especially some of the newer ones with the 'E' aperture system as well as some of the older versions. Best to check. YMMV. On a completely different topic, I'm still trying to figure out why Nikon introduced the F6 after they had already released the first of the D series. I did ask and was given an answer that made sense at the time, but I still am dumbfounded by this body. I still have two F5s in my 'collection' but everything else is current. I'm always thinking I will shoot some film one day.

I know the F6 is a film camera and they released the F6 because most professional photographers shoot both digital and film. There are times when each has an advantage over the other and this is why Nikon made the F6; don't forget, even thought they are catering and competing in the amateur market; they are still a professionals camera line.

I would respectfully disagree! I am a professional and I now only shoot digital. If I were to shoot film, it would, most likely, be with my medium format gear. I do plan to shoot film in the future, but for personal reasons and for fun. I'm sure some pros still shoot film for some things but it doesn't seem enough that any new film cameras have been released in quite some time, except for fun. Best of luck.

It all depends on the type of work you do. Many pros shoot more film than digital. RIT still teaches film and their course load is pretty even between the two and there is a reason for it. If you don't use film, then you are just not doing work that would deem it's usage; doesn't mean others don't. If I was doing a job professionally, many times I would use film over digital; especially in B & W or when texture was important for the photograph.

Gentlemen/Friends: would you please address my question: are Nikon lenses interchangeable, from film to digital? Thanks.

Lenses 1-4 will not work as they are DX format lenses and will not cover the entire frame. If #5 is not a DX, it should work fine, but check with Nikon to be sure. Lens no. 6 appears to also be a DX format lens, so it will not work either. FX lenses will work just fine in the DX format, just not vise-versa. Doesn't seem the F6 is a good move for you given your set of lenses. If buying a few new lenses isn't an issue, then go for it. Best of luck.

None! If you want to shoot film you will have to buy lenses. You can buy used and very old manual focus lenses.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is "big netting"?

That was my auto correct on my phone. I sent it without looking. It should have said vignetting.
