Back up body is good insurance. Sell the 7200 after you get the next one!

Do you have another back-up camera? No way would I not have 2 cameras.

Me... the best prices on camera's are buying everybody elses "back up" low shutter count bodies. almost every camera I've purchased has been somebody else's "back up" camera .... Cheap!

I just don't get it. I can't stand the idea of a perfectly good camera sitting in the closet depreciating. It's not like I'm going to carry two around... one with a wide angle and one with a zoom at the same time. I don't feel the need to show anyone that I can afford all the camera's I want. (called conspicuous consumption-a term from the seventies)

I can't think of the last time I was concerned that all the stores would be closed and it might take me a few hours to replace a camera I am toting around.

GAS is one thing, but keeping good camera's out of circulation is like..... Well..... I think the term is "breathing someone else's Oxygen."

One thing is certain. You have the first and second best Nikon DX cameras, D500 and D7200. Adorama was selling refurbished D7200 cameras for $769 in past weeks, and Nikon USA has them new now for $1049.00. Body only from both vendors. I would keep both. If you upgrade to full frame like a D810, I would keep the D500 and sell the D7200.

My back up goes with me when I shoot and has an alternative lens on it,so it gets used. In areas where my long lens can't grab something close, I'm ready to go. Salt marshes are a good example. Trips with a lot of wildlife, near and far.....
